 So if we go to the get moving section, you'll see the schedule that I have set up here. If we tap on one of the days, it'll take us to the workout, You can see what you have to do. We'll tap, get ready here. It'll track your heart rate and they'll grab it for the first time

I wanted a sports watch that would allow me to leave behind smartphone, yet still measure heart rate, store music, and have GPS to determine pace. The two main ones I found are the Adidas Smart Run and TomTom Spark. I initially bought the Smart Run, and was disappointed. The GPS was very inaccurate, took about 3 minutes to lock onto GPS before starting run, and poor bluetooth connection

Too many flaws for such an investment.

 We're actually stuck trying to think of something that it doesn't do. Ok, there is one thing, despite having an accelerometer, it won't track your daily activity a la FuelBand This is all about dedicated training, but if you're looking to spend around $400 we're guessing you're not looking for a fancy pedometer. Anyway, all the tech does come at a price, and we don't just mean the premium dollar one you can expect to get about a day's reasonable use out of it. That's based on one typical our workout with music GPS and all guns blazing, then using it as a regular watch for the rest of the day

 Also, we'd love to the mp3 player to be a touch louder. it's just at a threshold of bearable. But if you can live with those two things, then the My Throat Smart Run is a really great training partner, cheaper than a personal trainer. Go switch it off on Mondays [Music]

 Battery life is okay, it charges quickly, and I chose it for the coaching feature and MP3 player. Otherwise, I would have bought a Garmin. But, I really enjoy this watch enough to get another one when the time comes.

I would get this watch again. Is it perfect? No, but it's close to it.  I had the HR monitor first with the phone app and have to say I do prefer that pairing. I liked running the treadmill in the winter and having a visual of my heart rate really helped with the coaching and predicting the speed I had to set on the treadmill

Compared to other devices this may or may not be as good, maybe better - depending on your perspective of simplicity. I have been using a 10-year old Garmin Forerunner 201 and it was time for something new. I chose the Smart Run based on all that I read on the Adidas site as well as various YouTube videos, and it seemed a pretty interesting device so I decided to go with it. The other reason was I didn't want something everyone else had on their wrist

The GPS seems to work fine and the web tools you can use with this thing are great

 But product distribution on quality Adidas products are lacking here in the USA, so because of that some Adidas product price points are way too high. If it weren't for a steep (1/3 off) discount code I received I would not have purchased this. The other con is the battery life - it's pretty bad. But again, I no longer run for hours at a time

 If you sweat and then the sweat dries during a rest period, it is useful to give the back of the watch and your arm a quick wipe to ensure heart rate tracking is correct. Dried sweat seems to affect it, whereas I can sweat through a long workout and not have one HRM glitch. This is a minor issue that is easily addressed

 This is not wildly inaccurate, but it has taken Adidas far too long to address this issue.
