So, with a spindle, you get perfect stability and solid stationary support. For the best spindle drum throne, look no further than the Ahead Spinal G. I recommend the round one because a round seat will provide the thighs with the support they need so that you're not forced to support yourself using your feet. That means your feet can be relaxed which can minimize the effort to operate the pedals.

The cushion on the Ahead Spinal G is some kind of firm and very premium memory foam cushion that I can practice on all day without any discomfort and I sit perfectly ***on top*** (no sinking in whatsoever). That means I have no movement restriction whatsoever. Plus, being round and being on a spindle means I don't get leg fatigue. Not only that, but there's no tailbone pressure, and it definitely works as advertised.

The Ahead Spinal G will probably be the only drum stool you'll ever want to sit on for the rest of your life. I'm not tall and heavy, but this guy sure is: The guy on the far left who said he has one. It puts my round Pork Pie to shame.

If your budget allows you to go up to that $250 (w/tax) range and you want the Spinal G, do not get the 4 leg version. I've used a few 4 leg drum thrones and hated every second I've spent on them. They're awkward to place, take up too much floor space, and they don't offer any benefit that I've found.
