If you want a better office monitor with a built-in USB hub, check out the Dell Alienware AW2521HF. It's not as versatile as the ASUS TUF Gaming VG259QM, as it doesn't support HDR and has worse ergonomics, but it's still a good monitor for most uses. It has excellent wide viewing angles, great gradient handling, and impressive reflection handling. It has a built-in USB hub with four USB 3.0 ports, making it easy to quickly swap connected devices or charge your phone while you work. There's no USB-C, though, which is a bit disappointing. It's an extremely well-built monitor with a nice gamer-centric design and a slew of additional features.

If you want the smoothest gaming experience, go with the ASUS. However, if want want USB ports and don't mind compromising on a few things, go with the Dell.

 If you were to move to the maximum overdrive setting here there's just too much inverse ghosting that appears at which point it just becomes unplayable and just not a pleasant experience. I tried to do this on Counter Strike on Deathmatch and I just couldn't see myself using this monitor I would just absolutely rip my eyeballs out if I had to play at maximum overdrive setting with this monitor at 240Hz for example so I just found it unacceptable and in this respect the responsiveness of this monitor simply can't keep up with some other 240Hz plus monitors out there let alone 1440p 144Hz monitors which put this monitor to shame. So you can see where I'm going with this and truthfully I just can't see myself recommending this monitor yes it's got 240Hz at 1080p and it's got FreeSync and G-Sync compatibility and some fancy RGB lights which you're probably never going to see but ultimately where it really counts in terms of color accuracy it's not quite there while it's decent it's just not quite there and furthermore in terms of input lag and response time these two fundamental things which are often glanced over by either reviewers or indeed manufacturers this monitor falls short in comparison to its competitors so if you're looking for an ultra competitive gaming monitor you should look at the Asus monitor instead which is down in the description below if you're not an ultra competitive gaming monitor and I would consider myself as an ultra competitive gaming monitor gaming monitor a competitive gamer I would still go for a 1440p 144Hz monitor that has fantastically low input lag and response time and that's where my pick would still be even if you are global elite at Counter Strike like I am. So that's just my honest thoughts and opinions about the monitor let me know in the comments below what you make of the monitor and of course do like this video if you like it subscribe to see more honest content and of course favorite and share to always help the channel grow

For competitive play I can see myself using this in terms of input lag although it's not the lowest input lag that I've come across when it comes to either fast paced or slower paced gaming monitors, when I say slower paced I mean 1440p 144Hz monitors versus 1080p 240 or 280Hz monitors but its response time is really where this monitor falls short. Now you've got three different modes to choose from, in its normal mode the monitor is not that responsive, in its medium mode there is a little bit of inverse ghosting that appears and to a point I find it to be not say unplayable but I did find a little bit distracting on a game like Counter Strike which really doesn't look like the most visually appealing game in the world. Alienware AW2521HF review: 240Hz IPS gaming monitor

Amazing for the price, beautiful display, Updated

 Basically, all the creature comforts get the Alienware, but if you're looking for the absolute best performance for ghosting and the most refresh rates for seconds for a better flicks, the asus is the one to get a jumper. When you get, though, both are amazing and I'm sure you won't be disappointed thanks for sticking around to the end of the video guys, if you guys enjoyed the video, please leave a like.  How about when we move to super fast? Well, it starts to introduce some Corona artifacts, which isn't ideal for those. I don't know why this happens when you apply a higher level of overdrive, you're applying more voltage to the pixels, so they can change colors quicker. If we apply too much overdrive, the pixels are getting too much voltage, making them change colors too fast and shoot past the color it's supposed to be, which is why you get this blue ghost trail looking thing and unfortunately, with most monitors, including this Alienware. If you want to get that one millisecond response time, you have to increase the overdrive to the max, which in this case is the extreme setting which, as a result, overshoots the image terribly, definitely not worth it yeah that one millisecond response time sounds cool

 If we apply too much overdrive, the pixels are getting too much voltage, making them change colors too fast and shoot past the color it's supposed to be, which is why you get this blue ghost trail looking thing and unfortunately, with most monitors, including this Alienware. If you want to get that one millisecond response time, you have to increase the overdrive to the max, which in this case is the extreme setting which, as a result, overshoots the image terribly, definitely not worth it yeah that one millisecond response time sounds cool. If you want to brag to all your friends, but it's better to just stick with the fast mode which has a rated for millisecond response time, but produces much better results. And if you're wondering what it looks like with VR R on it actually gets slightly worse by leaving a long trail of ghosts

It has everything you want

 The base of the stand is a boomerang-shaped hard plastic stand with rubber feet to secure it in place and a screw on the bottom to attach it to the shaft. Out of all the monitors I've owned and reviewed, this is by far the heaviest stand I've encountered when put together, which is both good and bad. On the plus side, it features height adjustment markers, which is thoughtful, but I feel like most people are going to just eyeball the adjustment rather than use precise measurements, but if for some reason you need it, it is there. The back of the stand has a nice LED RGB light, which can be customized and really does create a nice pop of color once you've set it up

 Inside the box, you'll find a DisplayPort cable, an HDMI 2.0 cable, a USB upstream cable, and the AC adapter.  The aw 2721d is a new high-end. 27-Inch 1440p monitor giving us our first look at the combination of a 240hz refresh rate and ips technology. At this resolution, alienware touting a true one, millisecond greater grey response time here, we'll see about that. But we do know the monitor, uses a latest generation lg ips panel, so we're expecting performance, that's similar to other lg rps products

 The whole thing is much heavier than i expected, although this allows it to be very sturdy, and while the majority of the outer materials are plastic, i think it looks quite premium with its mixture of black and white soft finishes, i'm not a fan of the large 27 printed onto the rear, but outside of that it's a pretty clean body with some nice curves rgb lighting is found here integrated into a light bar on the back of the stand, as well as the classic alien head logo. This isn't a huge selling point for me, but it is something that other people find important tucked neatly behind the magnetic port cover are a display port and two hdmi ports, plus some usb ports. You'Ll need to use displayport to access the maximum 240hz refresh rate, as hdmi is limited to just 144hz at this resolution, and this display does not support. Hdmi 2

Another important point on the spec sheet is that of g-sync ultimate support, although it's the new, watered-down g-sync ultimate, not the high standard, the program, once commanded g-sync ultimate used to be for the best hdr displays on the market, but that's not the case in 2021, as The aw2721d has somehow qualified, despite having just display hdr 600 certification and only edgelit local dimming. It is hdr compatible and features 98 dc ip3 coverage, so we'll see how it performs a bit later

 This is also the first monitor review on the channel using our new test methodology. That'S been updated for 2021, so if you missed our previous video detailing all of that, it's well worth the watch.
