 I think that this shoe better than the 2.0 is something that you can just be kind of comfortable in all day. The ego soul. Not only is it really responsive, but it recovers much more quickly than your average soul, so you can literally wear them every great shoe

 and it also allows your foot to maintain its transverse arch. Maintaining that arch is really good for the biomechanics of your foot and that chain up into your hips and your lower back. There's zero drop, which means the heel to toe ratio is equal. In classic running shoes, the heel is larger than the forefoot

 It felt better, felt like a better ride than the 2.0 Uh, certainly a better fit and um, and I think it's a great choice if you're looking for an everyday trainer you want to do the occasional race in it, or if you just need something to be out and about with. I think that this shoe better than the 2.0 is something that you can just be kind of comfortable in all day

 Yeah, pretty crazy that some people are getting quite a bit of life out of kind of more of a minimal type shoe. Okay, so where does the Escalante 2.5 fit into my running shoe rotation? Um, I'm gonna have to say that this shoe is one of my best all-around shoes. so it's a great daily trainer that also crosses the line into kind of more that speed work tempo type shoe as well as it could possibly be a race day shoe maybe if carbon fiber shoes are banned one day

 So let's get into some of the stats of the shoe. Just like every other Ultra shoe out there, it's zero drop. so the stack height in the shoe is 24 millimeters. so zero drops

Altra Escalante 2.5 Review

Brooks glycerin: This is the shoe I started with. I've had two of these in width D, about a full number oversized. Overall I found them fine, however I stopped buying glycerin because their sole lasted very short for me (I land on the outside of the leg and was through the rubber usually in around 3-400km.)

Hoka cliftons: I've actually had two pairs of this shoe, and it is probably my favorite shoe right now. I've had the shoe in two sizes, the slightly too short US 10 2e which cost me a nail in a half-marathon and then the slightly too big US 11 2e which is probably half too big but it doesn't really matter (the store was out of 10.5). I love this shoe, I would love to have a slightly lighter shoe to alternate with it and that is kind of what I'm looking for

5s, but there is still just something off with how they fit compared to the great 1.5s. The softer upper is a move in the right direction, but maybe the lacing or design of the 2's is still just a miss for me? This has been a bit of a trend for Altra and myself. I absolutely loved the 1

 The 2s were way to stiff for me and I was happy to see the 2.5s went back to the sock like upper, tried them on briefly in the shop and took them home. However, after 50 or so miles, these just fit awkwardly now (see picture). The toes of the shoes turn inwards when I run and the outside edge of my feet spill out

I walk about 10,000-20,000 steps a day at work &amp; I'm looking for comfier shoes. 

I have heard many people say adidas sambas last them years but are they comfortable? 

I had a pair of $60 nike tennis shoes I wore of 6 years without any tearing but recently threw them out because they hurt my feet. 

Now I'm wearing a pair of adidas tennis shoes (memory foam) I got for $30 2 years ago and they are the best pair of shoes I've ever had but I know I will need to start replacing shoes more often. 

I'm also curious about insoles, do you use them? Are they meant to make your shoes last longer? 

Tldr; looking for a new pair of shoes for daily use that are comfortable

<p>I had a pair of sperry memory foam, and they were amazing but they made my feet sweat horribly because there was no way to ventilate the sweat since they aren&#39;t made of mesh like most tennis shoes are. </p>

<p>Edit 2: After reading comments here &amp; researching barefoot/minimalist shoes, I will also be giving those a try! I&#39;ve read it&#39;s good to switch up different shoe types to work more muscles in your feet so they don&#39;t become week later in life.
