It's a beautiful machine, but...

I'm trying to decide on whether to pull the trigger on black friday deals. Besides your smartphone, what computing device do you prefer for your personal life, and what devices are you looking at to purchase?  Some of the options I'm thinking:

**Thinkpad X13 / T14 with AMD 4xxx series:**  
The new AMD ryzen chips crush spreadsheets and are extremely snappy. I'm so naturally inclined to the excel keyboard shortcuts in Wintel that I'm willing to stay within that ecosystem simply because I'm more familiar and and efficient.  Tanky and understated.  USB4 is just around the corner, and Apple's M1 ARM silicon may render x86 chips a thing of the past.

**Apple M1 Macbooks:**  
The new M1 ARM chip Macbook Airs are also supremely attractive with their supposed 18 hour battery life.  But from what I understand, using Excel on Mac is less than optimal, occasionally buggy user experience.  I like using spreadsheets for planning my personal life so this is a concern.

**iPad:**   
Goes without saying, simple, refined, excellent value but not truly a do-it-all device when compared to a traditional laptop.

Since the normal iPad was out of stock I went with the pro when I needed to replace in a short timeframe. I will probably never use all the capabilities that makes the pro more expensive than the general iPad that is really my only reason for dropping a star due to the price. But….

I’m seriously considering buying a graphics tablet for drawing, and would really appreciate any recommendations and insight y’all could provide. 

I’ve only ever drawn on paper and have no experience with digital drawing, and I am only looking to get into digital drawing as a hobby, I am in no way a professional investing in my career. That being said, I don’t mind putting a bit of money in to make sure I am going to have a pleasant drawing experience. My budget is at about $450, as the graphics tablets I have been considering are at around this price range (Wacom One, Huion Kamvas pro 16, and GAOMON pd2200). I’m mostly worried about how compatible it will be with my Macbook Pro, because although all of these are listed as Mac compatible, I’ve seen reviews where people gripe about their tablet lagging with their Mac. I’m not really tech savvy, so I’m really wanting something that’s not a pain in the ass to set up, and doesn’t have a confusing interface. I’d also prefer something with a bigger display, 16 inches or more, because my eyesight is not great and I don’t want to hunch over the tablet constantly. Something with a parallax that isn’t very noticeable would be great too, because I could see that bothering me. 

I’ve been trying to do my research by looking at what people say in the comments of youtube reviews, but so many people throw around terms that I don’t really understand, or they seem to have really biased opinions based off of their own dislike of a brand that doesn’t have much to do with the actual features. Kind of felt like I was just watching people debate Apple vs Samsung only it was Wacom vs Huion, and it felt like I wasn’t really getting any good information to base a decision on. 

I’m sure these questions are often posted here and might get a little annoying, I’m just kind of anxious about buying my first drawing tablet, any suggestions or opinions y’all give me is very much appreciated!!

I am currently browsing the market. I have looked at apple, Microsoft surface, huion, wacom and pretty much anything else I could find.

I just don't know which to get, so I figured it may help if I heard the thoughts of others.

Info you may need to reccomend me a tablet:

I am a hobby artist

I do small art projects from time to time

My hand cramps...a lot, so comfort is important to me

My hands are small

I am interested in a stand alone tablet where I don't need a computer but can also choose to connect to one

I am sort of interested in the display tablet that is NOT stand alone

I am least interested in a tablet with no display

I use Gimp, if that matters

I prefer pens that feel sturdy 

My price range is anything under $1000 

My dream price range is anything under $600

Think of the best in the market and reccomend me the poor man's alternative if at all possible

A brief pro and con you have for the product would greatly assist me as well.
