In some markets like the Us, it's not that much more expensive than the vanilla one if you compare the storage tiers, so is it worth going for the pro instead? Let's find out in our full review: [Music] Apple has released two devices this year that are really quite similar. The Iphone 12 and the 12 Pro. Both bring pretty much the same design language, including the glass body with a flat metal frame

 They are a bit noisy and washed out looking though, and there is no night mode support on this camera. The detailed depth mapping provided by the lidar scanner gives the Iphone 12 Pro an advantage as far as subject separation goes for portraits. These are taken with a telephoto cam by default and they are good. The separation is outstanding and the defocus background looks quite nice

 But if you're in a region like the Eu where you'd have to pay 200 euros for that camera upgrade, the iphone 12 seems like the better deal. Thanks for watching guys stay safe and see you on the next one! [Music] You.

 These photos turn out great with very good separation. For these conditions, you get nice contrast and well preserved colors too. However, even though there is an improvement in the separation, exposure, and color saturation compared to the regular iphone 12, the difference isn't night and day and with the use of the auto enhance in the gallery app, you can achieve nearly the same result on the 12 that you'd get on the 12 pro. It just takes an extra step

I wouldn't say I'm ride or die for any phone, but I feel like the Pixel 6 is going to be Google's best phone so it's at the top of my potential upgrade list. Using their own SoC and totally revamping the software plus maybe a Pixel Watch as an added bonus.

However, I'd suggest to ALWAYS look at other options and be open minded. Apple and Android are stealing more and more from each other so iPhones are a solid choice. Foldables are also becoming more of an option with Samsung's rumored big push this year and Google's rumored folding phone. I'm excited to see all of them and then decide which to go to next!

I switched to the iPhone 12 Pro for the T-Mobile Mother’s Day offer, and I’ll be switching back. The iPhone hardware is great, but the software experience is so poorly thought out, and somehow almost no one is talking about it. And that’s not just “hur dur mah customizabulity”, it’s basic things like inconsistent background syncing and inconsistent actions to hide the keyboard.

I’ll probably switch back to the pixel for the cleanness and update, but I might check out a Samsung or other manufacturers phone if there’s a good deal.

I am currently on the Pixel 3, so I'm on the fence due to being due for an upgrade. Would love to see how well the "in house" processor does and will remain optimistic. I know for some guys it's already beyond a fool me twice/three times situation due to reasons, but coming from iphone/LG/Samsung I still prefer Pixel UI/software even if some perks are being taken away.

I was a Nexus 6P, Pixel XL, and now Pixel 3XL. It's getting long in the tooth, but definitely still kicking, and I've not been impressed with the 4 or 5 models. I hope that Pixel 6 ends up being a winner, but if not I'm not afraid to keep the 3XL until something better comes around.

Not really.  An iphone is admittedly somewhat appealing these days, due to the hardware and software being closer to what Android phones have been (and the longer lifespan and support period), but Apple will never win me over until they support LDAC or some other, better wireless audio codec than AAC.  I have zero interest in buying a non-Pixel Android phone, as I don’t need to have another layer of delays of updates due to manufacturers and their bloat.  So Pixel 6 it is, most likely.

I prefer the pixel version of Android, but in all honesty, once you've dealt with the bloat, the phone is overall far superior, especially in terms of the hardware and is also more reliable, the pixel used to glitch more regularly. Also, even though it was expensive, it'll likely still be worth a decent chunk of cash when j sell it, unlike pixels.

I might come back one day if Google have the decency to give us flagship grade hardware and reliability, but until then I won't be back.

I just switched from an S20 Ultra to a Pixel 5 but I'd look at next year's Galaxy models when there released. But I am liking the cleaner "pure Android" over Samsung's slightly bloated installation.

I’ve been an avid Pixeler and Nexuser for a number of years and I’ve always stood by Google and their software experience, even with countless hardware issues across each and every phone of theirs that I have owned. I’ve currently got a Pixel 5 (my third incidentally) but I’m typing this message from an iPhone 12 that work bought me to test on. 

I’ve moved to and fro between the two over the last six months but I keep settling on the iPhone. I’m not 100% sure why, especially given that using the iPhone at first felt a very bizarre experience. Maybe it’s the display, maybe it’s the weight. In any case, I am actually coming to like iOS.

I tried out the iOS 15 beta and, although nothing ground breaking, it offered a much better experience for me in terms of day to day use and practicality over Android 11 on the Pixel 5. I’m not a huge fan of the Pixel 6 designs and I get the feeling that it’s going to be plagued with problems, especially given Google’s track record for quality control and product commitment. It’s also the first time they’re creating a chip (albeit with Samsung) but it’s totally uncharted territory for Google and I find that worrying.

Android 12 looks compelling but I wonder how much of it is eye candy over useful features that will enhance my every day life. I certainly miss native Google assistant, now playing and the always on display but I’m currently finding the iPhone a more useful slab of tech to throw in my pocket.

Its been quite an internal battle choosing between the two, which is really quite ridiculous in the grand scheme of things. For now I’ve settled on the iPhone and I’m just living my life without obsessing over it. Maybe I’ll throw the sim back in the pixel this weekend, maybe I won’t. There’s one thing I do know for certain. The Pixel 6 will be make or break for me. It needs to be a change in direction for the better and a change that Google focus on and perfect, rather than something they ditch and try again on next year.

I do feel a little like a sheep using an iPhone, thats maybe one of the biggest downsides. It’s far from unique.

After being a hardcore Android user I've decided to switch back to iOS, I'm waiting for the iPhone 13 Pro, I don't know what it is but I've not been blown away by the Android 12 beta on my Pixel 5.

I've also just got my first MacBook, so that with an iPhone and an Apple TV I already own makes sense for me personally. 

I do think the Pixel 6 will be Google's best phone and I will wish I had gone for it mainly for the hardware, but the Material You is just not my cuppa tea, probably the first time I've thought that of Android as well.

My pixel 3xl's c port went out a couple of months back, careful cleaning helped somewhat but it would go out again in a couple of days. I wanted to hold out for a 6xl but that's a lot of months of wiggling charge cables  Idk about y'all, I'm sure someone will come back with how I could have replaced the port for $15 but I was lazy I guess. Took it in and traded it for an s21+.     
I love it and I hate it tbh- the hardware is much better and I can tell by how much more smoothly the phone runs and how well it multitasks. The screen is big and hd and the punch out camera allows much more screen space than the dreaded bathtub notch (or smelly iphones).     
The cameras are phenomenal and Samsung's camera app is damn good but it's not the Google one and that drives me bonkers. I miss the pixel recorder, auto-generated captions, clean stock android, google assistant being built into the phone, etc. all the time though. Software stuff pisses me off on a daily basis. lots of pre-installed samsung apps that can't be removed, some are useful some are just annoying.     
No, Samsung, I don't want to use your stupid tap to pay app that shows me an ad every time I open it. No, Samsung, I don't wanna use your stupid Bixby assistant when I hold the power button or open Bixby routines when I double tap the power button. I've used an app to remap these functions but it still opens the default apps first before glitching out and showing me what I want to see. No, Samsung, I don't want you to auto-create samsung calendar event duplicates of all my Google calendar events.      
Idk I'm conflicted. At the end of the day, its a phenomenal phone, but I'm constantly reminded of the ways in which pixel design bends over backwards to make for a seamless user experience. Oh well, I guess I'm a Samsung traitor for a while. Hope my rambling helped inform you in your dilemma.

I've had pixels since the OG one...I'm switching to the iPhone soon, mainly because I'm part of the Sprint/Tmobile switch, and I have to get a 5G phone by the end of the year.  The new Pixels are just too large and I want a smaller phone.

I recently had an iphone for a brief period of time, and found it pretty great when outfitted with mostly google apps, so I'm okay with the transition.

The thing I think I'll miss the most is Call Screening.

<div class="md"><p>I&#39;ve had pixels since the OG one...I&#39;m switching to the iPhone soon, mainly because I&#39;m part of the Sprint/Tmobile switch, and I have to get a 5G phone by the end of the year.  The new Pixels are just too large and I want a smaller phone.</p>

<p>I recently had an iphone for a brief period of time, and found it pretty great when outfitted with mostly google apps, so I&#39;m okay with the transition.</p>

<p>The thing I think I&#39;ll miss the most is Call Screening.</p>

I was one also but switched to the iPhone two years ago and have stayed in Apple land so far. We’ll see what Google delivers this fall but they need to nail down some fundamentals in order to make me consider switching back:

1.	Watch - they need to do *something*, the Apple Watch has such little competition Apple can take three years off completely and still be ahead 
2.	iMessage/FaceTime - stop messing around and make a standard all Android users can use, period. Grow a pair and force carriers to follow suit. 
3.	SoC - theirs upcoming/rumored chipset better be really good. This is another category Apple can take a multi year nap and still be ahead. The M1 is just stupid in how far ahead it is right now. 
4.	Support - five years on Phone commitment and good customer service and support for their products. No more calling random phone numbers and chat msgs and never knowing if you’ll ever talk to a damn human. 
5.	Face Authentication - they proved they *can* do it, but will they actually use it for app and OS authentication?? It seems they gave up on this 
6.	Health - this is a category Apple is the only serious tech company in this space. Apple Health is legit. 
7.	Google Pay - needs the same adoption rates as Apple Pay or this is a straight downgrade for me. 
8.	Privacy - this will never happen but they need to enable us to view and have better control of our data - more than they do today and if you buy Google hardware DONT COLLECT OR SELL MY DAMN DATA. I’m proving to be your customer, Google. 
9.	UI/UX Fluidity and Speed - iOS is just smooth snd fluid 100% of the time, it’s a joy to use. Android still isn’t close and it’s 2021, this can’t be that hard lol. 
10. Ecosystem - Google needs one, check that - they have one but it pales in comparison to Apple’s.

Bonus: Android needs to return to its roots and be, Android. No one was a bigger fan and if you’d told me three years ago I’d be all in on Apple I would’ve laughed at you. Functionality like Google Now was so freaking great but Google screwed the pooch. But here we are, Google hasn’t added much at all to their platforms over the last few years and their support sucks. They need to step it up big time, BIG TIME. Let’s see what they do.

I'm using the OnePlus 9 right now after sidelining my Pixel 5 and I assure you I am taking my ass back to the Pixel 6 XL/Pro once it comes out. I haven't felt compelled to fully jump ship for a while now.

Well i was hoping the Pixel 6 would be a reasonably sized phone but right now it looks like both are >6inch and I am here sitting with my perfectly sized P3 thinking which direction should I go :(

My Pixel 4a works fine and I use a Pixel 2XL as a sort of tablet, it also works great. Really love both of my phones but...

The 2XL is too big for me to use as a regular phone, I like small phones. The 4a's form factor is perfect. Yet it seems like Google may be abandoning small phones.

I don't know what I'll do if that's the case. I want small phones but they're increasingly difficult to find. 

What really strikes me as odd is if you go on Amazon or Best Buy and look at the best selling Android phones, the 4a has done quite well. Every time I looked the 4a was outselling the 4a 5g.

And I think a big part of that is if you want a smaller phone with decent specs, Pixel is one of only a few options. 

If they do abandon small phones, my question is simply *why*? They almost have the market to themselves.

Maybe they'll keep smaller phones with the "A" line up. If so, then I'll stick around. If not? I dunno I might just rock my 4a until I hit the retirement home (I'm joking, kinda).

Vanilla Android is why I am using it. I would consider any device with Vanilla Android personally.

Hoping that the 6 brings all we're hoping for. History tells us Google probably won't deliver. However, I will continue to be an asshole and buy the next Pixel because nothing else seems like a decent option. I'm the only family member out of 6 that does not have an iPhone. I catch hell constantly but can't see myself ever switching to apple and their ecosystem.

I've had a ton of Pixels (nothing newer than Pixel 3a though). I switched to iPhone X in 2020 and used that up until this week when I dusted off the old Pixel 3a again. I remembered why I liked Android so much.  It's such a great OS.  Too bad the Pixel 3a is sooo laggy.  But it may be due to the fact I just factory reset it yesterday, so may still be loading stuff in the background.

I'm torn if I want to get the iPhone 13/12S or Pixel 6.  I want either one, just can't make up my mind.  I own all Apple/Mac products, but I really like Pixels.

I just feel like everything that brought me to Pixel in the first place is no longer part of the package. The unlimited storage of full-resolution photos, the rapid charging, the best camera specs on the market, the price and overall value of the phone, etc. While some things are still on-par with other phones on the market, they're not above and beyond like they used to be. Add in the fact that sometimes my phone is almost too glitchy to use, the on-par-ness is demoted to just, worse than other phones on the market. So I'm just wondering, has anyone else been feeling the same way?
