Should You Buy the 2021 Arbor Shiloh Camber? | Curated

Second season back into snowboarding after a LONG hiatus and plan to go a LOT this season. Aim to learn some butters, enter the park, and get good at carving. All my boards are 20+ years old (one is definitely 30 years: 1993 Rick Powers Grateful Dead board). So it's time to upgrade. I really like the sound of Lib Tech's Magnetraction and BNA features, but I'm interested in getting recommendations from all of you more experienced riders. Please help me make the best use of the $$$. Rider details: 5'8, 210lbs, 10.5US men's boot, Beginner-Intermediate skill, want a Directional or True Twin, probably All-mountain.

Arbor Shiloh Rocker Review by Old Guys Rip Too

I feel like the more I read the less I know!

I’m a longtime rider who’s never really progressed passed intermediate riding (comfortable on most single black runs, but no park riding or big jumps), and I’m looking for my first new board in over a decade. 

I’m going to be riding mostly groomed runs, but would like to progress into some park and back country riding. 

I thought it was set on a Burton Process Camber, but now I’m not so sure — are there any other boards I should be looking at?

Intermediate board recommendations for the PNW

Jones/Arbor both have 3D shaping for slush and catch-free, grip/edge tech for firm conditions. Yes sidecuts also grip really well

So I've been boarding for a while now and have spent the last 10 years or so on a Rome Pusher and Burton Verdict and it's about time they get replaced with something better. Both the Pusher and the Verdict are rocker boards.

I'm located in Australia though and for our conditions honestly they've both been a bit questionable, probably not the right choice getting a rocker for our conditions. Australia tends to be icey, hard-packed, with everything being resort riding and in these conditions neither of the above have usually been lacking. When it's warmer and the snow softens up the Verdict in particular is goofy fun, practically impossible to catch an edge so it lets me get away with all sorts of rubbish I shouldn't be able to. The pusher is less forgiving but for some reason I always found it kinda hard to turn. Neither board locks into turns the way I would like. Neither of them really seem to grip into icey hard pack with any reliability. The Verdict in particular can only seem to do skidded turns.

My hope is to get a board that carves like my rental boards did when I first started, I'd like to actually be able to carve and have the poppy feel going from one carve to the next that I get from he traditional camber on my first rental boards ages ago. I'd also like something that can be turned aggressively and quickly by someone who isn't an expert rider. I don't hit parks, it won't be doing powder, I like to do some side-hits here and there, a bit of jumping, a bit of buttering, a bit of everything, and 95% of the time I'm riding regular so directional may be the go. So I'm thinking directional-twin, all-mountain freestyle either cambered or some sort of hybrid camber.

So do I just get a Burton Custom? Ride Shadowban? Is there something that sounds like it's particularly suited to Australian snow conditions that I should be considering?
