Arc'teryx Alpha SV

It's nice, easy on the eyes and you don't have to worry too much about the wind or the cold. It's a great shelf and even the water. There you go

Overall, this product has high quality details that really sets it apart.

Jacket's good so far. I'm actually quite pleased I got to use it.

There's just enough room to layer my Covert Cardigan under it if I want. I also tried it on under my Alpha SV and Fission SV and have to say it does **not** pair well with those jackets because of the hoods not seating well together (I didn't think they would pair well with those jackets though).

If you climb, Alpha SV. For everything else, Beta SV since it’s more versatile. Alpha SV is a superb jacket, however it’s primarily designed for climbing, so there’s some drawbacks for non-climbing wear such as the front hem cut shorter for harness compatibility, and the opposite opening hand pockets.

Three seasons of moderate use on an Alpha SV. I do work in the ski industry, but only part time. That jacket saw 50 to 75 days of use per year. I sent it into Arc’teryx for de lamination on the back and near the pockets.

In general, I really like how they provide more information about their products compared to other brands. My pipe dream is that they compile an archive of the previous models and revisions for each type of jacket. Right now they only list, and don't save, the most recent revisions. They have a visual timeline for their changes to the Alpha SV over time which doesn't explicitly state the changes, and even this would be great to extend to their other products.

Arcteryx/Palace collab - Ive wanted an Alpha SV and had the scratch, so I picked up one of their SV collab pieces, mostly because I looooved the color way, not because of the exclusivity. $98 on top of MSRP, which to be clear is not a small amount of money, but less of a 'brand tax' than I thought it would be. This is the first Palace thing Ive ever bought, and was surprised to still see it in stock a few days after they had the initial drop. I think there is more stock than usual for this particular collaboration.
