The Arc'teryx C-Quence is their first new harness design in many years, and is a successful all-around model that improves on many of the popular Arc'teryx features, such as the Warp Strength Technology waistbelt design. This waistbelt sits flat against the body and has minimal to no padding inside of it, but disburses the weight of a climber over the entire area of waist and leg loops to greatly increase comfort while also reducing bulk and heat trapped by foam cushioning. Compared to previous Arc'teryx models with similar designs, the waist belt is not nearly as broad, and is even more comfortable. It also comes with tons of clipping space for draws and cams on four easy to clip plastic molded gear loops, and a fifth gear loop for extras in the back. The fixed leg loop design is low bulk, while having the ability to stretch to a much wider fit to easily accommodate added clothing. These leg loops are far more comfortable than all other Arc'teryx designs we have tested in the past, especially for belaying, effectively fixing what was our number one complaint with the design of the Arc'teryx AR-395a.
Like most Arc'teryx products in general, and harnesses in particular, this one is fairly pricey. That said, it isn't their most expensive harness, and virtually everyone we know who owns one is happy regardless of the purchase price. We were also surprised to learn that our size medium weighed 13.3 ounces, which is on the heavier side of the spectrum, and not nearly as light as the super thin construction would lead us to believe. Despite these qualms, we think this is easily one of the most comfortable harnesses you can buy, and is very well suited for absolutely any climbing activity. Use it for cragging or in the gym, long trad routes, alpine adventures, frozen pillars, or even glacier walk ups, and you won't be disappointed.

 Comfort is not one of this harnesses strong suits; it will absolutely crush you um. It'S built well, you know it's super light. It'S made in canada uh, which i love. Obviously, as you can see, um, but look it's just not a comfortable harness it's actually, if anything, dangerous, because i i promise you, you will get absolutely smushed in this thing now

 It'S sending the gear down away from me where i'm going to be wanting to grab and rack it, and the same thing goes for the back one here. It'S pointed in the wrong direction sliding downwards now, if you don't believe me that this is wrong, just go to their website. Look at all the pictures of the sequence. You can see very clearly in all their photos that they're all supposed to be symmetrical and the sides essentially mirror each other and point the gear always forward, and that is clearly not the case here, really really sad um

 It absolutely crushes your junk and if you took a b layer on their fall, where you weren't, like pro, keep in mind that to do this review. I'Ve properly set myself up here, like i've adjusted, and if you took a fall unexpectedly, i'm telling you a hundred percent. You absolutely run the risk of having these really intrusive straps here, just completely crush one of your marbles. It'S a huge risk and i can tell without even having gone out and put a climber on this, harness that's an absolute possibility

Pleasantly surprised

1) It's just a little heavier/bulkier than I would have expected given how incredibly lightweight some of their earlier FL models were. It's still one of the best harnesses I've seen for weight/bulk, but it just seems like with a couple extra years of innovation, they could have gotten even better.

 The leg loops are way too big. Otherwise the harness seemed great. Please bring the fl-365 back or at least make a version of the C-quence harness with smaller leg loops. Otherwise my next harness will not unfortunately be an Arc'teryx

I've had two fl-365 harnesses and they've been perfect for me. Now I've had a chance to test the new C-quence harness expecting the same excellence but unfortunately the fit is just poor for me. The leg loops are way too big. Otherwise the harness seemed great

Please bring back the fl-365

 The risers are a real pain to adjust. I wish it had one more loop for the waist belt slack. The little bag is awesome but i wish it was a little larger.

Comfy, feels larger than expected.

 It fits comfortably, though the padding in the leg loops and waist is not as great as some harnesses - it works just fine for me, but you may want to consider this.

The harness itself is simple and light, and I appreciate that. When I am climbing, I want to have as little as possible swinging around, and this has just a few gear loops that are unobtrusive. It is also a pretty understated harness, despite what the bag may lead you to believe. I think it is much like getting a sports car in black - you mean business

Finally!

Bought the same size (small) as my FL-365. The waist belt is comparable in fit to my old harness but the legs are much larger, so much so that when I sit in it, the harness rides up much higher and pinches my kidneys. Considering I pretty much have the waist tightened all the way, maybe an extra-small would have been better. So, if you liked the FL-365, be aware of this
