 The Arctic P12 PMW PST reached a maximum temperature of 71 degrees Celsius, placing the fan one degree lower than the Noctua NF-F12 PWM and behind the noise blocker ELOOP B12 PS, a great result for a fan of this price and caliber in terms of technology. The main thing to note here is that all fan testing is done at maximum RPM, in many ways this is how each fan gets a fair chance against the higher models and that's why in this case the P12 PMW PST is one degree better than the NF-F12 PWM. The Noctua fan spins slower than the Arctic but in the end, temperature wise, Arctic gets ahead and if you don't care for noise then this is a good point for the Arctic P12. The Arctic P12 PMW PST is a great Intel fan that is simple but offers a good performance out of the box

 The main purpose of the Arctic P12 PMW PST is to be a cheap radiator and heatsink that will deliver a good performance without breaking your wallet, that's it, there's no complex bearing system to keep it spinning for 10 years, there's no polymer to make the impellers better, there's not even any type of rubber pads on the corners of the fan frame, speaking of which, you better invest into those fast with these fans. While not severe, the P12 PMW PST did have a tendency to vibrate on the case and especially on the radiator, so keep that in mind especially if you want to use multiple fans in your system.  Now moving on to the 34 dBA testing so this is having all the fans noise equalized to 34 dBA or to 12 volts if the fan doesn't actually make it up to 34 dBA. Now with no obstructions the ARCHIC P12 PWM PST performed well landing on the top half of this list with an FPM of 310. Now with all the fans noise equalized to 34 dBA with a meshed panel the ARCHIC P12 PWM PST pretty much maintains its position on this list with an FPM of 295. And finally with a covered panel the ARCHIC P12 PWM PST maintains its FPM better than most of these other fans

 Starting with the DBA and RPM testing at 4 volts it was at or below the noise floor of my room with a DBA of 32 and an RPM of 800. At 6 volts it had a sound level of 32. Now zooming in on to this chart so we can see the smaller differences between all these fans. At the lower voltages the ARCHIC P12 does seem to outperform the Noctua fans but as the voltage increases along with the DBA of the Noctua fans the Noctua fans do manage to catch up to the ARCHIC fan

Coming up to my 40th birthday and decided to try and get back into PC gaming.  Some say it’s a mid life crisis!  I last built a PC in 2000 and first built one when I was 14 (which had a 133 MHz processor, 1.2 GB HDD, 8MB RAM).

I have just picked up an RX 6600 XT for £120 over MSRP and another NVME drive (2TB) in the Black Friday sales.

I’m now just a bit concerned about using the wraith cooler and the standard fan setup in the case.  I’m not getting overly high temps though - more about the longevity of the components.  There’s space for 6 case fans.

Am I just being paranoid?
