 It's really easy to set the ski rotation Additionally, it has just like our JJ ARB 116 it has a Schmertek in the tip and tail of the ski which really allows that ski to track through pow-pow and land perfectly with precision But you're getting the the angles and the edge of the ski out of the way when you're slashing turn So it really allows ski to drift really well But it gives a good drive and stability and predictability from one turn to the next but a lot of playfulness at the same Time as soon as we started doing jumps and like small jibby things in the pow They they were like so quick and the swing weight was like awesome So I felt so that was so playful. I basically hit the biggest jump I ever hit in my life with those skis as well So then even though they're like super light and the swing weight is fast They could manage going through a lot of air with a lot of speed as well I'm definitely a huge fan of the ARB 116 ultralight. It is Been my go-to power ski. Honestly ever since it came out You really can't trade anything for weight when you're talking about power skis that you're trying to jump on So I really think this was kind of a pivotal ski for the whole industry It's pretty amazing to feel the ultralight pretty much lighter than the dole of so really amazing there makes ski touring just a Breeze very enjoyable

 It's not very often you get a 116 underfoot big pow ski that feels like Lighter than a park ski under your foot, you know One is that the weight the way we're able to achieve that is through the Corobacore that we're using so when you pick this ski up it is noticeably light and weight Simultaneously, what that gives you is a lower swing weight. So for those that are going to buy this ski for Using it for hitting backcountry booters. Moving to Korea for a year and then Japan for 4 years.

My current skis are just an all around good mountain ski… good on everything but not the best at any one thing, I guess you could say? I love my skis but I don’t think they’re wide enough for deep powder.

I love groomers, not a fan of powder 🥲 making the transition to powder is going to be a big deal for me.

What do you recommend for powder skis? I’m F, 125-130 lbs, 5’3”. Moderate to advanced ish level skier.

Best powder skis?

 It would be great for that freestyle skier looking for a playful pow ski that's also capable in the park as well. Armada has a 3D smear tech in the front of this ski, which gives a little more rocker to the front. Through skiing some groomers, skiing switch, catching air, it was almost hard to believe that this is a 116 underfoot. And although a lightweight wood core, you would expect a little bit of chatter, maybe instability on landings or uneven snow, but it was the total opposite of that

 If you're an extremely tall or a bit on the heavier side, I would not recommend the 116 as it's mostly just wood in the core. So you might want something that has a little bit of metal in the core and is more supportive for your height and weight specifically. Armada wants you to use it anywhere from powder to the park, and I think that intermediate, advanced, expert and up will love this ski. If there's any bowls at your resorts, you're going sled skiing or anything, it's a deep day, it's steep, you're going to consider this

 I thought it did a great job at providing a stable feel for the ski while maintaining its surfy feel. I did get to ski the Armada JJ 116 switch quite a bit, definitely what it's designed for. Again, Armada is shooting for these playful park and powder ski, and you can ski it from anywhere in between. This is truly a great choice for a freestyle skier looking to get jibby inside and outside of the park, plenty of pop in one of the most playful skis out there in the powder market

I’m looking to upgrade my quiver this season, and I’m looking for suggestions. I have a pair of Elan Ripsticks 181 (106mm waist) and with some tyrolia frame bindings. I love the ripsticks but I’m looking for something a little more playful and less directional. I’ll be riding whistler this season, and was wondering if a 116 is gonna be too wide for whistler? Right now my thoughts are the armada ARV JJ 116’s or the J ski Friends. Any recommendations are welcome.

Buying skis?

 With a bit variable snow, you can kind of still trust the ski to be stiff enough to kind of be riding through bumps and slightly tracked snow, skied out stuff. So definitely a preferable ski for me if it's a resort pow day, whereas I would choose to use the ultra-light one if we're going somewhere to tour. More of a stable platform with the ARV 116, and then you kind of have your lighter, more touring version with the UL.

 The ARV 116 is an all-around, durable, slightly heavier wide pow ski for me. It's got the Shmear Tech on the tip and tail with no edge, so a little bit easier for buttering on the tip and tail. That ski, while it is a little bit heavier, it's certainly a little bit stiffer. Kind of nice for that on-mountain pow day

I love my bentchetler 120s - ski them in a 184, even on days I absolutely do not need something 120 underfoot. 

Do any of you know of a skinner ski (maybe 100 waist) that has a similar profile in terms of rocker and flex? **Specifically looking for something that allows  me to turn on a dime like the BC120s do.**

For reference I'm 5'10, 166 lbs, advanced skier, and spend most of my skiing days at Alta.
