Ascaso Dream PID

Ascaso Dream, bought partly for the looks but also because it looked like a decent single boiler machine. It was, but after 10 years it’s completely worn out despite several times it went in for service. Probably should have gotten a Silvia instead.

But I regret not splurging on an Ascaso Dream or Steel Uno with PID…next upgrade! Is a Niche or Eureka in my future? Can’t say as I’m a Baratza fan because I’m still rocking a repairable 12 year old Virtuoso.

Hi everyone,. I've had my Ascaso Dream PID for over a month. Sometimes I find the sweet spot where the 9 bars are hit perfectly and consistently during the shot. However, this is not every shot I make.

I have the Dream PID and love it so far. My tip, get a better basket, like a VST 18g, and a good 58mm tamper. You may have to look up or ask ascaso if the VST baskets fit the ZERO.

I recently purchased the Ascaso Dream PID and I am having troubles getting my espresso right. Specifically the pressure gauge never shows that the machine gets into the proper pressure range.

I'm a previous user of Rancillio Silvia and ECM Classika, and this machine is totally worth it. Easier to use than my previous machines and coffee taste perfect. Small notes: drip tray is small, so I recommend placing a cup under when flushing the group head after a shot to clean it. I do a small flush also before pulling a shot, but I don't think it's that necessary.

(I use hot water from a kettle or microwave.) ...Adjustments and challenges:..An odd glitch has developed: Initially when switched on, it went directly from pre-infusion to pressurization. After I cut down the pre-infusion time from 5 to 4 seconds, it started pausing between the two.
