The rest of this $200 board includes solid basics such as its 10x50A CPU voltage regulator. And if you don&rsquo;t want to pay for the WiFi, ASRock offers an otherwise-identical X570 Steel Legend without that controller for $10 less.
The primary sacrifice compared to pricier boards is that the second x16-length slot has only four lanes, because the top x16 slot can&rsquo;t share its lanes. Both viewpoints describe a basic design that eliminates a few pathway switches to save money: Anyone who didn&rsquo;t need those pathways to be flexible will surely be fine with this. And keep in mind that these are PCIe 4.0 lanes, so even at x4, there&rsquo;s still quite a bit of bandwidth available to that second slot.
The lesser sacrifice of this board&rsquo;s design is that its two M.2 covers are built as a single unit that&rsquo;s integrated with the PCH fan shroud. This means if you want to have a fan shroud, you won&rsquo;t be able to install any M.2 SSD that has a heat spreader of its own. Uncovering a single M.2 slot while leaving the over covered is likewise not an option.

Was not an issue with my old Gigabyte board.

 ASRock just doesn't want to fix it. That's a big negative. A couple big downsides but otherwise fine.

Price will kind of determine how well the system will perform overall. Usually cheaper boards will have components that barely meet specs to just "get it working", while expensive boards are overbuilt and more for overclocking competition or showcasing.

 It is also seen that the SB runs very hot at around 70 Degrees with light load load and about 66 degrees at idel. Since the 5700XT is a PCie 4 card it cannot be moved to the other slot as it is not Gen4. This looks like a possible design flaw. ASRock should redesign this board moving the fan away as there seems to be other locations where the fan can be placed

I was very close to buying a new AMD system yesterday:   
Case: Fractal Meshify 2  
CPU: Ryzen 5600x  
CPU Cooler: NH-D15S

And then I was weighing my options between a **Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro AX** (better audio) or an **MSI MPG B550 Gaming Edge WIFI**  the other day.   
Then I read about these USB/Wifi/Bluetooth disconnect  issues, and now I'm hesitating and thinking about going Intel instead  (again).

Disabling PCIe 4.0 is not  really a solution for me. In my mind it's just the same as accepting the fact that you payed for a feature, that doesn't work, and apparently it still doesn't for a lot of people(?).

Anyone experience with my mobos of choice with the most recent BIOS?

It seems like some people are still experiencing issues with Wifi, Bluetooth and especially USB IF PCIE Gen 4 is enabled. There seem to be cases with Asus, Gigabyte, MSI and Asrock boards, where these occur, apparently even with the most recent bios versions. The USB problems seem to be mostly limited to USB 2 ports or ports connected to the chipset / 3rd party USB ports.

Now I know that people without problems are less likely to comment, so this probably has to be taken with a grain of salt.

I have not decided yet which board I will be buying, but I will be looking into boards that have at least 4x USB 3 at the back and 2 headers at the front, so I don&#39;t have to rely on USB 2, just in case.

Buying a new system: Should I still go AMD with all the USB/Wifi/Bluetooth issues people talk about?

A great motherboard for the price.

One good BIOS setting to enable is Precision Boost Overclocking. You can generally get about +200 MHz over the advertised Turbo Clock without an issue with it.

If you want the best system performance, pair it with a PCIE Gen4 GPU and NVME drive. You can go lower, but the bandwidth might lack at times during file transfers.
