I just bought a pair of Atomic Vantage 97 C skis last week, but didn't consider the fact that they had a flat tail until a few days ago. I enjoy riding switch, and generally like snappier and more skiddy turns rather than perfect C's, and this is really starting to make me think I made a mistake getting this pair of skis. I'm also somewhat concerned about how wide they are, considering I'll be doing most of my skiing at Big Bear, with just a week in Mammoth, and a week in Utah.

 It grips very very well at long turns when you come back on the piece but off-piste definitely good in soft snow, floats beautifully. If you take it into the choppier kind of conditions you do need to be over the top of the skis and make sure that you're working the front of the ski but yeah really good for anyone who's a stronger advanced skier.

 Hi we've been testing here the Atomic Vantage 97C winning ski. It's quite a beefy strong ski, brilliant for somebody who's a good good capable skier that really kind of gets over the ski, works the ski. New Ski Recommendations

 The carbon mesh in there, it's light, it's damp, it's a very predictable ski, goes up into the turn with very limited effort but holds really, really strong through the turn. It's not a ski that you're going to load up and get a ton of energy out of but it's going to be a really predictable, smooth skiing ski. So if you're looking to step up your game, if you're looking to explore more of the mountain and you want to push up towards that advanced level skier, it's a great tool to do it.

 Hi, I'm Thom, I just got done riding the Atomic Vantage 97C. This is a fantastic ski for that intermediate skier who is looking to take their skiing all-mountain. At 9700 foot it's a super versatile waist, can definitely rip on the groomers but versatile enough that it's going to handle chop, chunder, crud, bumps, all that stuff you're going to find in the variable conditions when you're skiing off trail. Where this ski really shines is that it's just easy to use

The Atomic Vantage 97 C is an awesome option for an intermediate to advanced all mountain skier looking for a performance ski with added playfulness. The Light Woodcore is a full poplar core to keep things light without sacrificing any dampening properties for chatter control. Prolite Construction which starts with the thinnest construction possible and building the key features around for no added weight but added performance. The Carbon Tank Mesh is a layer of carbon mesh running from tip to tail over the core for a quick and energetic response coming out of turns. An All Mountain Rocker provides a gradual rise in the tip for natural flotation in powder but lets the rider get the ski on edge with ease when it comes to the groomers. Get a versatile and playful ski that can handle any all mountain challenge with the Atomic Vantage 97 C.

 You know, hopefully you can kind of see it if I hold the ski up, but it's basically a square pattern of carbon throughout the ski rather than metal. You still get a pretty good stiff flex in these skis, but what's nice is if we put this next to the Vantage 97 TI is this one's a little bit lighter. So if you like the idea of these Vantage skis, but the TI models maybe sound a little bit more demanding than what you want to get into, these carbon versions are great. All the same kind of performance benefits that all the Vantages have, so not much rocker in these skis, so you get long effective edge, which a lot of skiers really like because you get really good feedback from the snow surface and just a good snow feel, a good connection to the ground

 And this 97C is just a little bit easier to maneuver, a little bit less fatiguing if you're skiing it in trees and stuff like that where you have to make some quick movements. It doesn't have quite the power or quite the vibration damping and stability as the TI version, but you can still ski it pretty hard and fast. And I would say that if you're a less aggressive skier but you like this shape and you like this construction and you like this story, the C models may be better for those less aggressive skiers because, like I said, you're still getting a lot of the same performance benefits, a lot of the same performance characteristics, but just a slightly more forgiving, a slightly more approachable, and a slightly less fatiguing ski. So that's the Vantage 97C from Atomic

 Great ski. It's been out for a few years now, so we've had a lot of different skiers testing it over the years. So you can read a lot of different feedback on Ski Essentials.
