 It just fits right in there. So here is a quick look at the specification sheet. You can tell that this has a frequency response of 20 hertz to 20 kilohertz, which is pretty much all you could ask for. And it has a cardioid polar pattern

 I thought it sounded great on the voice. I thought it did amazing at eliminating background noise. Just all around a great microphone. So if you're gaming and you're clickety-clickety clacking away on your keyboard, I think this might be a good option

I'll be recording acoustic guitar and vocal using a Motu M2 as an interface.  My budget is under $150.  The mics I am considering are the [Audio Technica AT2020](https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AT2020--audio-technica-at2020-cardioid-condenser-microphone) and the [Presonus PX1](https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PX1--presonus-px-1-large-diaphragm-condenser-microphone).  I know the AT2020 is extremely popular.  I've read good things about the PX1.

Comparing condenser mics for acoustic guitar and vocs

 It worked GREAT!, awesome deep sound, when gaming, my friends told me I sounded crisp and clear, and I could have it 2 feet away from my face and it would pick up my sound(and some keyboard) with no issues. for the money I was really happy with it. Then, 3 weeks later, it died. Just like that, it gave up

I bought this a year ago and stored it because the setup it was gonna be a part of wasn't ready yet. I got it ready just three weeks ago and installed the mic on it's boom arm and connected it to the Focusrite audio interface via XLR. It worked GREAT!, awesome deep sound, when gaming, my friends told me I sounded crisp and clear, and I could have it 2 feet away from my face and it would pick up my sound(and some keyboard) with no issues. for the money I was really happy with it

 The exterior design here consists of metal, for the entirety of the build. I believe that this microphone is just slightly taller than the AT2020, so it is still a pretty small microphone. However, we are going to have some physical attributes over here that separate this one from its cheaper brother. On the bottom over here, we do have a low-cut filter switch, and we're also going to have a minus 10 dB switch

 You will absolutely need to adjust the settings of your preamp/mixer and OS mic sensitivity settings to get it to sound how you want. But when you do it sounds so damn good. I personally keep the mic under my chin, about six inches away from my mouth, pointed straight up. This keeps my breaths from going into the mic, plosives are almost nonexistant, and it captures a more natural frequency of my voice because its far enough away, but not so far away that I need to increase the sensitivity and catch more background noise

 I'm a bit picky with my mic audio so I've gone through many hours of research, test recordings, and tweaking to learn and get this mic working to its fullest capabilities. Generally speaking, no quality mic will sound its best, unless you know what you're doing. With that said I really can't recommend this mic to people who know nothing about basic audio setup/engineering, or people just looking for a plug and play mic. However if you're willing to take the time to understand how audio works, or you already understand and you're looking for a nicer mic than what you currently have (me before getting this one) I can absolutely recommend this one

If you're curious, I use Windows 10, in the sound settings my mic is set to 80, and my preamp is set to ~55%. I also use a compressor at a 15 ratio, -17dB, and a noise gate at around -40dB

 It requires phantom power by the way, and an XLR cable for those who are unfamiliar with non-USB microphones. So if you're going to get it for your computer, you'll need an XLR to USB interface, such as a mixer, or preamp, or that Blue Icicle thing. I bought this specifically because I was looking for a larger diaphragm microphone, with directional capture, and I simply trust Audio-Technica. The frequency range, the warmness it adds to my voice, and how natural my voice can sound given the right proximity and mic settings, makes me genuinely love this mic

 First things first, as this IS a condenser microphone, you HAVE to give the room you plan to record in proper treatment. Otherwise it WILL pick up a lot of reverb and background noise. I have actually surrounded the microphone itself with studio foam inside of a cardboard box. It's not the prettiest sight, but it was inexpensive and works just as well as the upwards $100 screens they sell for these

 You will also need to buy at least two XLR cables, one for the power supply, and one to connect to the interface, but you can find some decent ones around $7 -$14, so that is no big deal. As for the sound quality, it is PHENOMENAL. Every syllable comes out clearly, and distinctly. Subtle nuances in tone that some lesser mics tend leave out are crystal clear, and, best of all, it can handle high vocals without peaking as easily like my other microphones did

 Please note, the UX1 does not supply phantom power, so you will need a phantom power supply. I use a Behringer Micro power supply P5400 with it ($20). You will also need to buy at least two XLR cables, one for the power supply, and one to connect to the interface, but you can find some decent ones around $7 -$14, so that is no big deal. 2. Logitech G430's were pretty good, I liked how you could toggle the surround sound on and off, they sounded really good, just hated how uncomfortable they were and the wire was horrible, always getting tangled.
3. HyperX Cloud Revolver S, they had issues with random popping on one side of the headset, weird static / buzzing noises, and the built in 'DAC' wasn't really great, no software for the headset. Had to use Equalizer APO + Peace Equalizer to get them to sound really crisp.
4. HyperX Cloud Flight S, I did just get these today, returned the HyperX Cloud Revolver S due to having issues with it. This was somewhat of a downgrade I feel like. IMO they aren't that great, everything sounds really flat on them. Listened to different types of music, tried them with a couple FPS games, they just aren't good. Have also tried using Equalizer APO + Peace on these as well but can't really get it to sound clear / crisp like the Revolver S. I do like the 4 buttons on the side that you can give functions to though.

I have a Scarlett 2i2 that I use for bass guitar. I have Arctis Pro headset. When I plug the Arctis into the scarlett via a 1/4" adapter it sounds fine playing bass and using Ableton, but if I try to listen to a youtube video or play a game on my pc it sound horribly muddy and distant. Is this due to impedance?

Would buying sennheiser hd 280 pros be a solid move? I'm very new to this and have been reading a bunch and just wanted some solid advice.

I like to listen to music just before I fall asleep. I&#39;ve been using conventional earbuds before now, but would like to try something new. Does anyone know of any headphones or earbuds that would be fine and comfortable to sleep with? I would prefer wired to not rely on a battery.

 I use ZSN Pro for both gaming and music, but when I'm hanging out with friends in discord, I had to boost up my microphone by 30dB in order to let them hear me.   
Anyone has the same issue?

I currently own the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro.  Would the upgrade to the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Wired (Over ear) be noticeable/a good choice?

Used for music and FPS gaming.

* **Budget**  +/- $150

* **Source** - Steinberg UR22(usb, 1st ed). I also use this with my mic (AT2020,xlr on a boom). It works just fine for my needs. It also has 1/4" stereo inputs for my 558's with mix, phones and output knobs.

* **Requirements for Isolation** - None. ~~Insist~~ Prefer Open Back. I use my cans at my desk, don't travel with them and am 100% more concerned with sound stage.

* **Preferred Type of Headphone** - Over ear. Must be super comfy as I wear them for extended periods.

* **Preferred tonal balance** - While I've had numerous 'gaming' cans in the past, these HD 558's really opened my ~~eyes~~ ears to sound stage and depth. Best cans I've had *so far*. And while I'm no basshead, I do like some punch somewhere between tight and wet. Quiet you!

* **Past Headphones** - early crap, Plantronics, Turtle Beach, Razer, Corsair; all the crappy closed-back, boom mic, surround/DSP (cough) headphones. I'll never go back to using some software for spatial awareness. The soundstage on the 558's is insane, compared.

* **Preferred Music** - Currently playlist: KGATLW, Brujeria, Bach, Zappa, Atlin Gun, Schoolhouse Rock. This one is difficult as my tastes are so varied. I've been a somewhat pro musician with 35+ years exp. and listen to such a wide variety of stuff. I like to say everything from Abba to Zappa, but, as there is no accounting for taste, it would be easier to name the things I *don't* listen to. I know, so edgy. Piggybacking on my love for the 558 mix, I guess I prefer the flatter, more balanced EQ. 

* **What would you like to improve on from your set-up** - I'm looking for a similar but upgraded soundstage and mix to my 558's. The only thing I have to compare them to is all the shit cans I've had in the past. For now I think the UR22 is fine for an interface and am pretty sure it could handle 250+ohms for drive. Although I don't think I can spend into that bracket.

Again, since I have nothing to real-time compare to I'm not 100% sure if, eg. the DT770 Pro or even the ATH-M50x with closed backs, are equally wide soundstages as the 558's. This week a friend sent me a pair of Senn GSP600's. It's built like a tank and I'm told the mic sounds decent, but the sound is just so meh and compressed and the soundstage is 'ok', but it's also closed back and I didn't install the software because fuck that. I've since ordered an 1/8"f to 1/4"m jack for it to fit the UR22 in hopes the amp will help it over that hill, but IDK. I also ordered a soldering gun and a 1/8" jack to hopefully mod these 558's (left speaker is going and I have a hair-tie wrapped around it currently. ugh) and fix them, tho at 5-6 years old, the band is starting to stretch out and well, daddy needs a new pair of cans.

1.  Sony XB950B1 Extra Bass - Sound was really good for its value back in 2017. I usually had the bass boost at around 5 with the extra bass option always on. Earpads were great but the weight of the

3. Corsair Virtuoso - Piece of HOT garbage. Only thing good about this headset is the mic. It feels like a brick is on your head. The "slipstream" tech was barely functional. The sound was all around very flat. 
4. Hyperx Cloud II - These were really good in terms of comfort. I wore these for an average of 6 hours a day and rarely notice them being there. The sound was decent for the price but lacked distinction and energy.
5. Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9 - I only had these for a little while because I was quick to find out that everything I listened to leaked out into the environment
