makes good toast resembles a toy on counter

The most basic function of a toaster is to toast both sides equally and evenly. Sorry to say this one falls short, sadly like ever other toaster i’ve tried. No setting for frozen bread either.

This gets HOT around the outside of the toaster and the old toaster we had did not. Otherwise it seems good quality.

I was replacing an old toaster that was surrounded by a plastic body "shell".

 The toast was burnt. Don't know anyone who would want their toast that dark. Back it goes.

consumer reports got this one wrong . this toaster is new to me so thus far function it is ok . Very cheaply made and the power cord , item most likely to cause a problem , is china cheap as you would expect to find on an inexpensive imported lamp . If it proves to be dependable I will replace the power cord for safety reasons

I use a toaster only for heating frozen toaster waffles. This toaster always burns them, unless I set it on the lowest setting, in which case it fails to thaw them out. There is no setting that does them right, unlike other toasters I have had that do these same waffles perfectly. So I have to return this toaster
