BenQ HT1085ST

Projector is a bargain BenQ HT1085ST ($85 shipped) and the screen is the 120inch spandex screen from Amazon sold by StretchScreenUSA. I love it and it's been great outside - nice to find a way to use it indoors. The projector is a new acquisition, but looking forward to using it!.

They are cheap to make and sell, but the intense LED light typically will cause burn marks on the LCD within a year or so. One note - for some reason LED based DLP projectors do not seem to have the same Rainbow Effect, at least in my experience. I can definitely see RE on my BenQ HT1085ST if I move my head too fast, but in general it doesn't bother me at all.

I live in a south-facing apartment with a large window wall, and from 2016 to 2021 I used a BenQ HT1085ST on my coffee table to project a 120" picture onto my Elite Screens manual pull-down screen. The screen is mounted on 6" L-brackets, which allows the screen to be pulled down over a display rack attached to the living room wall.

I mean it took me a while but I bought a BenQ HT1085St for $85 shipped. And then a new lamp for another $85. I guarantee it will run rings around either of those projectors. While they aren't super easy to find there are definitely bargain projectors out there - hell it you settle for a WXGA projector you can easily source a real one for under $100.
