Much like its smaller sibling, the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL3 is an excellent backcountry companion. It maintains the same features but with room for one more. It is designed to accommodate three, but it is also light enough for two people to carry a very reasonable load, with room left over for extra gear storage. It has double side doors, and its high-volume design provides plenty of headroom. The massive gear storage pockets are a nice perk as well.
We don't think that the tapered footprint serves it as well in this larger configuration; it feels like a squeeze for three people. However, we like it because of its flexibility, allowing a group of three to travel light.

 There are also two small pockets near the floor of the tent near where you would have your head. These pockets reduce or even completely eliminate the need for any type of a gear, loft or other way to put gear up high, and they, of course, do that, while adding almost no weight whatsoever to the tent itself, I think these pockets are genius overall. This is a super cool tent. It is a great tent

 So you can feel safe and investing in this tent and speaking of investment. What'S it cost, the tent is a relatively high on the price point coming in at five hundred dollars for the three person tent $ 4.99. However, it's worth it, I got ta tell you: if you're looking for a tent, that's going to be reliable, that you're gon na feel good about the is going to be light and durable and solid and full of great features

Gear Review: Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL 3

Headed to the Channel Islands for 4 days.

Great but not for freezing temps

 They wanted to save weight by going with as little stakes as possible, so i'll show you on the other side here that how it should be set up now, as you can see, i've got the foot of the tent the guy lines staked out traditionally to the Ground both sides right here instead of coming back to the center like big agnes suggests so when i have this tent up here at this exact location, i'm up at crescent lake in cooper, landing alaska and we're known for high winds here right here on the lake Front the winds were just barreling down the hillside, down these mountains and came right up onto the shore and when the gusts would come i'd say they were at least 50 60 miles an hour and when they'd hit the foot of the tent. And if your guy lines are staked together right here, i'll show you uh. This is how big eggness suggests you set it up, but if your winds are strong enough, they come and hit your tent. You can see i'm not pushing that hard on this thing

 I think this is more of a two-person tent, so i've got about eight inches here between my pad and the door, the other bag, pretty close together, the other side. It'S got about another eight inches, so really, there's not a whole lot of room so to fit three people in here would have to be pretty squeezed in now. You got i'm almost 5 10.

 It really adds no support to the tank. I mean the poles and the fly aren't really connected up top here and everything can just bow right in and that's what happened when i was here before is the winds were so strong? The wind, the poles pushed right down and then they eventually pop back up so by guying your lines out here to this center stake. It'S really not adding any support to your tank, so absolutely get yourself four extra stakes for this thing and bring them out to the bring them out to the corners and get them taut just like you're supposed to, because now, as you can see, it doesn't go Anywhere and another thing is big: agnes should have added another velcro, strap right here up top, as they have right here at the guy point on either side. There'S little velcro strips under here that you can attach the fly to the poles, which they should have done up here too, because you can see the pole doesn't stay attached to the fly there

 What big agnes did was, allow you to unzip and there's two tie-off points at the end of the doors and as you can see, this is paracord, but you can get guy line. You can attach them here and here and if you hike with trekking poles, you got here, you can stake out your line like this. That'S your other stake go and now you've got yourself a sun shade like that. What you think is pretty nice all right now i'll, take you guys inside and show you why

I already read some posts and articles about this topic, but the answers are pretty different every time. I will go backpacking with my girlfriend this summer. It will be for 18-19 days, and we plan to mostly sleep in a tent. So for the past few days I have done much research to find the perfect tent for us. My question now is, if we should go for a 2P or 3P tent. I'm 185 cm (6'07) with relatively wide shoulders, and she's 169 cm (5'54). We are very close and like to cuddle, but for sleeping we use our own space. Also, we both have a Thermrest NeoAir Topo Luxe sleeping pad (10 cm /  4 in height and 64 cm / 25 in width). So with our combined width of 50 inches, some 2P tents already are not an option.

My favorites so far are:

\- Nemo Aurora 2P (or 3P?)

\- Naturehike Mogar 2P

Our budget is up to $350 max. And we won't take much gear (like no cooking equipment) and probably won't do many hikes with all our stuff (sometimes we will, though). So I don't know if the weight of a 3P tent will have many downsides. 

What would you recommend? Is there enough space in a 2P tent for a couple that likes a bit of comfort? What's the weight limit you would recommend? I will most likely carry the tent by myself to get some weight off her shoulders.

2P or 3P tent for a couple?

 Well, maybe not there. I got that one leaning in all right, so I'm gon na settle for this one I think, looks like a pretty good spot, got some dead ones off in the distance, but no, no, I don't think those are bother me well anyway. So that's gon na mean put my tip. This is the Big Agnes tent that I've been using this season

 Those big dead and tall things like to come down with a little bit of wind or because it rotted out or whatever, but we don't want any of those coming down on us. So you got to kind of look around and hopefully find a spot that doesn't have one of those big bad boys leaning your way, so I was trying to find a spot, that's kind of tightened, tucked into some trees. So if there's some fluke reason, one of them does fall. I got something to block it and there's that big, leaner right there, but he's leaning that way, but that little spot right there and looks like a pretty good spot right there and maybe even right there

 It'S lightweight. It'S like four pounds, add a little bit for the rain fly, but all in all for a three person tent I'd use it for solo trips and when I come with my wife, it's just great all-around tent and then there's this little vent. That was open like that yeah! That'S it! So! What'S nice about this Big Agnes tent is you can take down the tent underneath the rain fly, so you can keep your tent, so I got to put away wet as you're implying he's gon na dry that out when you get home. So, as you can see, I started taking that straps off the poles, so I can drop the tent inside the rain fly

 Absolutely it's lightweight its three-person 10. I take it for just myself all right. Let'S do some, let's find a campsite 101. We got to be careful

Light and spacious

 So that was really nice to be able to like slide your headlamp in there or a book, or you know if you're drying, some wet damp clothes from the trail that day, oh hi puppy coming in you want to join in here, you want to see how You can fit inside, hey, say all right so or you can say this is a one person, two dog tent. That would definitely work well. Can we fit two humans and two dogs so another bonus with all that roominess? You also get two doors and i cannot emphasize how much we loved having two doors darren. Did you like having two doors? Yes, darren's, filming by the way that is my partner in adventure, and you can see our whole trip up here

 It made the tent super livable. We were very, very comfortable in there. You know writing in your journal reading just hanging out. It did not feel claustrophobic, i mean you can see

 The three person is that there was so much room inside the vestibule. This thing is crazy: it has 41 square feet of room and having that extra head room and just extra space, all around was really really nice. It made the tent super livable. We were very, very comfortable in there
