Read so many reviews before buying because of the price. We made the investment because we went camping and the temperatures were forecast to go down into the 20s. We used our own mats to insulated the ground. We used a Mylar blanket as a first layer, 2 cheap foam mats from Walmart, and a camping self-inflating mat that we bought at Costco
