 Let's ramp it up again. Now if you want to shortcut to the brightest double tap and that is the 5,000 you'll see it better when we go outside. To get to the strobe you double tap again strobe warning. Now when the light is off if you long press this you will get to a really low reading mode

 You know you would think that this is just a floodlight but no. Now this light is controlled by a side switch to turn it on you just press that side switch. Now this has ramping which is gradual increase and decrease in brightness. That's often called stepless brightness but basically if you press this down as you can see and it'll blink when it gets to its maximum and to decrease it just press that and again it'll blink when it gets to the lowest right that's uh that's pretty low

 Hold on. All right it's a very low mode don't worry not gonna blind you. Right so long press from off gives you the reading mode. In order to replace the batteries you just unscrew the body of the light

 We're going to begin with simple like beam cross sections and beam profiles and then we're going to take it on the road and light up some still scenes, light up the sports field, and then we'll be back for final thoughts on this light.  If it is already on, pressing and holding will cause the brightness to ramp up and down. A quick double click, whether the light is initially on, or off, jumps to full brightness -- really bright! Adjusting the brightness may sound a bit complicated, but it is actually probably easier to learn by trial and error than it is to describe in writing or learn by reading -- just don't look into the beam, because, again, it is really bright!  There are more features too, like a battery gauge, various strobe modes, and even alternatives to the basic user interface. These aren't as simple to learn and access, and you will probably want to refer to the users manual/cheat sheet, or some of the videos people have made for some of them. But the most important thing is that they really don't get in the way of getting light when you need it, and turning it off when you don't

A great update to the BLF Q8

 It's a great size too. It's not huge. It fits in your hand nice. It has a electronic button here, which has an LED on each side, two LEDs

 So let's move on to the light itself. The light has extremely good finish. Machining is nice. There's no sharp edges anywhere

 When we point it toward the lighthouse, you can see how bright it actually is. The lighthouse is about 200 meters away. I'm very impressed with the Q8's output. The way it can flood and throw far away is a great combination for this light

 It's got a tripod mount or a lanyard adapter if you want to put one of those lanyard holes that screw into there. So the loaded UI in this is the ramping UI. So if you hold down the button, it will go to moonlight and if you keep holding down the button, it will go all the way up to turbo right there when it does that bump. You know you're at turbo

BLF Q8 Review

[NLD] My first light! Already looking at a couple more. Thanks for being a welcoming and helpful community!

 No, I didn't get a free light, and for the money you spend on this light you can't get better (but you CAN spend WAY more money for this quality).  The Sofirn Q8 has the XPL-HI LED and this helps it outrun the older BLF Q8 (I also have) in throw by about 15% more distance. I didn't test them both side-by-side as I didn't have enough batteries. But when I flipped the Q30 batteries I did have available (between the lights), I really found them to BOTH be wonderfully bright with a nice neutral color (tint) that showed the fall colors very nicely up in the trees I spotted a few hundred yards out

 Alright guys, what is going on? We got another flashlight review and we've got one on the BLF Q8 budget life form. Again, this time made by Thorfire and sent to me again by Banggood in this generic kind of cardboard box. And then you get two, count them, two manuals in English. Because this light can have up to, what am I right here, 13, no 12 modes or groups, excuse me, 12 groups you can program this light into

 So if you want to use this as a bonafide searchlight or if you want to use a backup light in your campsite or just all kinds of uses. Super cool that it has this attachment for a tripod. Very, very cool. If you need to concentrate light on a certain area for a long period of time and you're working on something, it's just got so many uses and it's stationary and you don't have to hold it hands free

Help soda can light

 it does exactly what I want, when I want. The beam distance is at least 1/4 of a mile. Hands down, one of the best torches for the money.

 Wait and now it's going to go into setting three and finally we're going to get into setting four here and then we want to click it a single time. There and that's it. You can see now it's been configured and it will no longer have strobes. Now when you double click from maximum it just turns off the light it no longer does the strobe

 So first I'll show you some strobes here. The light defaults with strobes enabled and I hate them so let's turn them off. Alright so this picture is rather overwhelming but it shows you how to use the light and how to program the light. And it's definitely overwhelming at first
