Boker Kalashnikov

For me it’s the Boker Kalashnikov, manual, full sized and partially serrated. I’m a bit of a spyderco knife snob and also dig cold Steels, so this knife was a whim purchase. It’s in my pocket more than any other knife. Razor sharp, tough, very fast button lock opening and closing and a cool, old school tactical design with a very discreet deep carry clip.

Rounding out my OD carry - Thrunite W1 rechargeable and a Boker Mini Kalashnikov Warhawk. Really impressed with the light, for around 30 dollars for a rechargeable it’s a great little daily carry item.

I'm not a fan of the Boker Kalashnikov in general: it's a painted knife. The handle and blade will get scratched the second you use them and look bad with wear. The underlying blade doesn't have a particularly great shape, there's no cutout for sharpening and it gets thick in the middle of the blade so it gets overly wide with sharpening, and the handle itself is heavy for the blade length.

The Boker Kalashnikov is a beater knife. I get that it’s the principle of the fact that you didn’t give him permission and now your knife is all dinged up, but you should gain an appreciation for wear even for your “good” knives.
