What is happening? Everybody we are back at the daily grind and today we've got a really cool knife for you. This is that hogue from the ex series ex805 coming in with the cpm 154 blade steel on that harpoon shaped blade, beautiful handles with the black and gray g10 insert fits amazing in the hand. Action is great on that beautiful, auto can only ship to certain locations. So know your local laws, but this one's coming in at 220

HOGUE EX-A05 BLACK SPEAR POINT AUTO

 I followed every direction or suggestion to try to get this rubber grip installed. It was impossible. I tried the cutting plastic tabs from the case which I highly DO NOT recommend as you might want to return it as I was on the brink of doing. I boiled it in water, used a hair dryer and nothing was working

Once on it is great

 So it looks pretty cool. The clip is reversible, which is kind of nice. It'S still going to be left-handed, i mean right-handed based on where the button is, but you could you know, can you uh? Actually? No, because it's gon na curve, the clip is gon na curve. The wrong way so never mind, but all in all, this is just a really good looking knife for sure now

 I'M sure he'll be waiting and watching this video, and he can comment maybe, but i'm not gon na worry about that, but yeah so because of the curvature and the way they do their clips, they are uh handed clips. If you will, you can't just reverse them, but i'm sure that there was a left-handed clip in the box when it was new and you could switch it that way. So, let's do a couple size comparisons get that out of the way there again. I just i think it's just a great looking blade and it feels great in the hand

Hey guys, what's up today, i have a knife loaned in from my buddy tier one gear and edc reviews he's got a pretty good channel and i loaned him a couple. Things he's loaned me some stuff, and so i think there may be some back and forth here happening with he and i's channel and uh yeah he's got such a cool name tier one gear and edc come on. I i'm not that creative, apparently, because i couldn't come up with anything for my channel, but my name and i don't have cool stickers or a logo for that matter, so yeah. So he sent along a couple of stickers uh a little uh charm thing um, so that was very cool

 So, let's dive into this hogue, this is really a cool knife. I'Ve had a couple of different hogs on a channel so far and uh for the most part. I really liked them so and and spoiler alert if you're just here to see. If i like it or not, i freaking love this one

 The feel in my hand was flawless but knowing that the tear was there made me destroy it and purchase the talon grip instead. Maybe I should have boiled the hell out of the grip instead of following the instructions. Not a bad price though.

 So, as you can see, couldn't i put it, then you can lock it and it won't. Uh won't allow you to close it, so it does its job as a safety, and it does it very well. As far as safeties go that's a winner, even though i don't like safeties, if i had to have one, it would be like this because it does it very well so uh all in all, really nice knife uh. I did not, of course, take this thing apart or anything like that, because it is not mine uh

 This is right hand tip up only, but it almost looks like they may offer a left-handed pocket clip for this to go on this side, because that you couldn't flip this one. So if they do that, that would be great for lefties, i'm not sure if they do, but it looks like that would be something that they would offer because of what this looks like. I'M not sure. Maybe they do maybe they don't um, but yeah an all-american-made uh knife for 220 bucks

 Oh, i was very surprised whenever i got this out of the box and started holding it that that it was kind of that uncomfortable for me. You know if this just was extended a half inch. A lot of people probably would hate that, but if this was extended about a half inch, this knife would probably feel like a dream, even though it doesn't have a forward finger choil. If i had this thing, a half inch back here where my pinky would be able to be in between uh, this would probably be so so comfortable

 I am a fan, however, with my hand, size ergonomically. This knife is a fail for me and i hate that because i really like this design, but it's a fail and the reason it's a fail is because of the length of this handle and the shape of it. I'M going to go ahead and show you, so i put my finger here in this uh the primary finger choil here on the handle and then where my big old chunky fingers come. This thing feels so cramped because of the swoop and the shortness of this area that my pinky does not

Damaged

  Start from the back sliding the grip over. Once the two sides are a quarter of the way over, slide the rest of the grip over the handle with all your might. Make sure you had your Wheaties before doing so! You'll need it.

Pain to put on, but worth the end result.

Feel and grip is great, install is difficult
