 That reverb is the Boss RV-6. It really is kind of an industry standard isn't it? It's not something you would necessarily call a boutique pedal. It is however very moderately priced. So let's put it through the ringer and see how it does

 You can run this either from a mono or stereo signal into the pedal and there are two outputs so you can run mono or stereo outputs. There's also an expression pedal. It is important to note as far as I can tell that the stereo, if you feed a stereo into the pedal, it will pass through and come out as a stereo signal. So good there

 Let's start with the top, let's start with the right this time as well. Let's be funky, let's mix it up. The right is the mode knob, this guy has seven reverbs built in and one sneaky delay sound. The reverbs are much later delays, hall dyes, brooms, springs, dynamic delays, shimmers and that might be seven

 Next up we have the time which is the dwell, how long you want your effect to last when you hit your lovely note. There's tone, about how bright or dark you want your reverb to sound and overall effects level, how much you want your effect to affect your guitar's sound. So what you heard in the little bit before was me playing spring with everything at noon. This is technically the first mode on the mode knob, modulate

 This is the spring of what you heard in the intro. Reverby. More fun facts about the RV6 is that it is totally stereo, you can enthrall your audience with the beautiful shimmer effect and there's also an expression pedal input for you to change some of the lovely parameters.

 Next up we have room, we're back in your kitchen. Same way if you need some chips after I'm out. So those are the standard reverbs built into the RV6. Next we have the dynamic reverb which is quite clever really

Boss RV-6 Reverb Pedal Review

 My primary basis for comparison is my DigiTech Hardwire RV-7 Stereo Reverb, which incorporates Lexicon algorithms and is excellent. It is a bit bulkier and heavier than the RV-6, to the extent that matters to you. ---------- SPRING - This is a classic style of reverb found on many vintage amps (notably Fender, but many others), and while it's often associated with surf, it's broadly featured in countless subgenres within pop and rock. That being said, it isn't always easy to capture the metallic response of the spring as you hit strings more aggressively with a digital spring reverb, but I thoguht the RV-6 did a great job with it

 Seriously, BOSS gear may not have the "cool" factor of boutique gear, but that form factor is tried and tested, and you'll never hear anyone rip BOSS gear for being unreliable or flimsy.  The BOSS RV-6 has 8 modes, so I'll go through each briefly and give my impressions. There are also 3 knobs for effect level, tone, and time. Compared to the RV-5, most of the same reverb styles are available - including the popular modulated reverb mode which helped give the RV-5 such lasting appeal - but they removed the gated reverb and added "Dynamic", "Shimmer", and "Reverb + Delay"

 The result is sort of an analog style delay, as the echoed notes themselves are subject to additional reverberation. I found it surprisingy easy to dial in, and quite convenient to be able to grab a single BOSS pedal, throw it in front of an amp or a mixer and have delay and reverb mixed in one pedal. Obviously, you'd get much greater depth throwing the delay pedal of your choice in front of the RV-6, and using the latter strictly for reverb.  ---------- CONCLUSION: The BOSS RV-6 is just a solid unit considering that it retails for $150

 Especially considering that super-cheaper reverb pedals of any quality are usually pretty bad, or still around $100, so the RV-6 might be worth a look for just a bit more money. I should also mention that the current draw on a 9V power supply is only 65mA, which (I think) is surprisingly low for a digital reverb pedal. They actually claim 5 hours of battery life, which may be just enough to bother with it. All in all, this is an excellent reverb pedal, and just like any other BOSS pedal, it's hard to imagine not having use for it 10, 20, or even 30 years down the road

 Cool feature on the RV-6, when you plug in an expression pedal, you can control the blend between the dry signal and the affected signal. So I'm going to do that on this next setting, which is actually the delay plus setting. So check this out, this is reverb and delay together. Now that we've heard the RV-6, let's go over some of the important features here

 All right, let's dial through all the sounds and give this thing a listen. I'm going to start with the spring reverb setting. Thanks for watching. So now I'm going to check out dynamic reverb mode

 And as you saw as I was playing, I was backing it down, turning it up if you want it brighter, darker. Again, this is really voiced for guitars, so it's perfect. And this is the time control, which is the length of the reverb. And then here of course is your controller for all your different algorithms

 Although, I was a little apprehensive because I wasn’t sure I’d be able to explore the soaring ambient sounds some of the boutique manufacturers create with their pedals. But I went for it anyway due to the Boss reputation etc… Well, I just received it today, plugged it in and Wow!!!! What a glorious sounding reverb pedal. It sounds amazing, resonate and spacious with wonderful trailing delays. The spring pops nicely and the shimmer sounds so much better then the corny sounding reviews I listened to on youtube
