  Well don't you believe it. This cover is single layer of the cheapest mushiest foam imaginable and which is only about 1/4 inch thick, covered with an equally cheap, thin cotton that slides around on the foam, which makes PRESSING - which needs padding but FIRM padding - harder than it must be. Since dents are left in the foam and cover if you set the iron on it for even just a short time, It is easy to see that the cheap muslin cover is going to stretch out quickly and the foam is going to collapse quickly too.  So if you buy this lovely board, best to budget the extra money to get a decent cover

Budget for a REAL cover when you buy this board. Board is lovely, cover is definitely NOT.

Probably a good ironing board, but study the negative reviews - I did not and it bit me.

First, the likes: sturdy, wide width & length for ironing fabric, quilt-making & other large items. The height adjustment range is great since it works for tall people & can be adjusted low to a table height which means you can bump it up against a table & have any excess fabric/quilt/sheet supported by the table instead of dragging on the floor. Understand that these advantages come with trade-offs, e.g

 Check your storage space measurements, BUT GET MODEL WITH DIFFERENT COVER OR SPRING FOR REPLACEMENT COVER.

Pros: it's very heavy (which for some may be a con). It's large and wide enough to iron trousers without barely dipping over the edge. The iron rest is large - large enough to stack folded clothes. It opens right up like the old school ironing boards - a little shake and it locks into place and you're ready to get your ironing on

Pros and cons

The ironing board itself is great! The one and only weakness we found is that the cover had small little tears in it (like moth holes) out of the box. They don't look like damage from transport, rather a really thin material that gave out when stretched over the ironing board. It's held up so far, but I expect we'll have to get a new cover at some point. Otherwise, my wife and I are both happy with it!

 Easy to fold, sturdy, and the pad that comes with it is just right. The reason for four stars is because I don’t care for the iron rest.

 If you’ve only had a narrow “standard” ironing board before, it might take some getting used to, but after using one of these a couple times, I doubt you’ll ever want to go back to a narrow one! There’s really no reason to want to.  I also like that the board adjusts to a taller height than my old one, which is easier on my arthritic neck and back, but it can also be adjusted lower, to be used from a seated position (I’m disabled, so this was important to me to have the option). And it doesn’t squeak at all (some are like nails on a chalkboard!) when you open or close it. This is so much more stable than a more narrow board with the same style legs, and 1,000 times more stable than all of those T-leg boards out there! I plan to keep mine set up most of the time, but will mount a wall holder for those times when I need to put it away

 The rack is quite sturdy, and the iron rest is also sturdy and stable, with an adjustable arm to help secure your iron.  The ironing surface is wider and a bit shorter than ones found on standard boards, so it’s easier and faster to iron linens and fabrics for quilting and sewing. But it’s not too wide for ironing clothing, and the small amount of board length lost poses no issues, really. This is a perfect proportion, in my opinion

 The board DID come with the Ecru cover, but I figure that since this is a board that could last from 50-100+ years, my future families board may need another cover or 2 during its lifetime! I'm HAPPY with this ironing board and I believe everyone else who purchases it will be too!!!

This is the ironing board that I have waited for 40 years for! I have been struggling with an old, narrow, unstable ironing board for all of those years. This XL ironing board is definitely heavier than others, but it is worth every penny that I paid for it. The weight is what makes it a great quality and a stable ironing board. This VERY sturdy Barbantia size C-Wide Ecru Ironing Board is worth the money!!!!!

 Anywho, Amazon got my hope's up 3 days in a row telling me (ok, Alexa told me) it would arrive "today" for 3 days straight! When it did arrive, one of the "feet" was sticking out of the box, and the box was not sturdy at all, the tape was loose, and the make-shift box was falling apart! Fortunately, the ironing board inside was unharmed!!! The plastic wrap was shrunk on well, and there wasn't a scratch on the board. I absolutely love this board, its very sturdy, nice and wide and my regular old iron fits well in the holder! The cover is adequate, but I would like to replace it with a better looking one (okay, so I like pretty flowers when I iron!) that is made with a teflon or just a smoother surface. This ecru color cover is basically just a plain muslin, not the quality I expected for an ironing board this expensive!! I hope Brabantia makes a good replacement cover because this cover looks quite unique, probably not easy to replace. Overall, I would recommend this ironing board, and I hope there us someone in my family to whom I can bequeath it

 I had to tell my husband he was right. LOL. About an ironing board. Irony? *This one is quite a bit lighter than that ugly gray and orange one, but it is just as sturdy

 It was over a100 bucks so I just kept on. Well he pushed me to get a new one, but I thought they would all stink. Well. They don’t all stink

 (Full disclosure: it didn’t really, just felt like it) *This one pops right up and stays up. Closes when you press the release. *This one has a rack at the bottom that I don’t use but it is there, baby! That ugly orange one lacked the rack! *This one has an iron rest and the ugly one did too. BUT this one has a button you push that makes a bar move and actually makes the iron rest useful to people like me that have a regular Rowenta iron! I have no idea what was supposed to work in the other one

It’s way better than the ugly gray and orange one I had!
