I just received my BOV650XL oven and I must say I have higher standards than some of the other gushers here. However, the things that bothered me might matter less to others so I provide the detail below. What's with the $229 list price that Amazon gives? Breville lists it at $179.  Cons:  1

 I love being able to see exactly how long it is for the toast (or whatever) to be done. We've come to expect this on our microwave ovens, and it's great to have it on a toaster oven, too.

Expected better quality for the highest-priced toaster oven

 If you can live with all these huge mistakes by Breville on the design of this unit, in exchange for good baking performance, it is better than heating up a giant oven for reheating or making smaller dishes. My one worry is that I have read reviews that Breville has a reputation for making expensive products that BREAK just after the warranty ENDS. If this happens with this unit, I will NEVER by a Breville again. Period

 The bad: - The box it comes in is a box in a box. It is VERY hard to remove the product box from, the brown shipping box (seems pre packed box in box so, not an Amazon criticism). - Ones out the the outer shipping box, it is also VERY hard to remove the product from its own box. So hard, as it came out, the heavy metal baking tray flew out and landed on my foot! It gets an F- for packing! Do it on a queen size bed with two people

 - The oven has cheap plastic controls. I wonder how long they will hold up. - The typefaces on the controls is way too small and thin! Forget it if you are older. This could have been fixed not only on the silkscreening on the unit but also on the LED screen, if only it SHOWED the name of the mode the unit is in! - The crumb tray does not lock or click in and easily slides out just with an oven mitt brushing it or moving the unit out from a wall

 The Breville BOV650XL is a great toaster oven. It's perfect for the budget conscious who don't want to pay for the more expensive convection ovens but want something better than your run of the mill toaster oven.

 You'll need to place the toaster oven in a decently lit area to see your food while it's cooking. Or you may need to open the door and pull out the tray to see the food which is annoying while you're cooking.  The most critical piece of any toaster oven is how it performs while cooking. The BOV650XL does this extremely well with Element IQ
