#What would you like to accomplish?

I'm a writer and editor, and I'd like to be able to print a large volume of black and white pages without trouble when I need to. (Anywhere from once a month to a few times a week, jobs up to 1000 pages, but those would be very rare). I've only had inkjet printers in the past and any time I need to print out a full manuscript, I end up needing to buy new cartridges and if it's been more than a few months the printer is usually done. I don't mind having to check on the larger print jobs but having to fix a jam every ten pages is exhausting. 

Both my personal and work computers are Macs, so mac compatibility is a must. The ability to print color photos would be great, but if it'll be a lot more money to get this capability, it's not required. (more than $100 more). I'm in a small apartment so smaller is better but I have *some* room.

I've heard good things about Brother laser printers, with HL-L2300D and HL-L2350DW coming up most frequently (I don't get the difference), and an HP Color Laser 150nw and Canon imageCLASS LBP6030w Wireless Laser Printer also appearing in my searches.

 Did it disconnect from the network? Why isn't wi-fi direct working? Is it the printer or is it Windows? Let me downloads the brother software and check for driver updates. I was thinking about a brother laser printer, but heard about HP smart tank and would love you're thoughts about it. my budget is around 250$.

 The scans and copies come out really great. The only reason I gave a 4 star rating is because of the difficulty in connecting to the wifi. I think Brother can improve on that and give better instructions. Other than that I am very pleased with the printer and highly recommend it
