Yeah, so the Cartographer was really fun to ride at Big Snow. It was playful. It really initiated the turns really well

Out of the 3 choices I would go for the Cartographer, although I tend to find stiffer boards easier on ice / hard snow so the Free Thinker might be better. Personally I’d pick the Showstopper although it might not be available to you. The general thing I would say about Burton is none of their boards offer a class leading level of grip on ice where you can just be lazy but they tend to be more predictable when they eventually let go. I would also not pay too much attention to the beginner / intermediate / advanced / experts labels if you do clean linked turns and can make it down most slopes, personal riding style and preference matters way more.

Probably a little north of intermediate skill level. Not a fan of the park, so don’t care about that. I’ve been looking at the Burton Cartographer.

So I’ve come at a decision. Burton Cartographer.

Now that he's progressed a bit further, this season, will be on a 154W Burton Cartographer (directional camber with rocker nose). And I'll let him keep Skate Banana so he can use the one that fits the conditions best through out the season. But, both those boards have been able to accomodate his boots size and contrasting wieght.
