 The Process Flying V's contact points actually touch back down. Now you see the Customs are actually raised up. Now with that feeling of a six on a flex rating scale it's going to be a little more torsionally rigid, stiffer tip to tail and that's because that Superfly II dual zone EGD wood core that's actually combined with 45 degree carbon highlights. Now carbon highlights means that there's on top and on bottom there's 45 degree and negative 45 degree carbon making this board much more rigid and stiff and then there's a full sheet of carbon along the bottom side

 And one thing you may notice right away about the Custom Flying V version it has quite a bit of teeter totter to it. There's reverse camber in between the feet that gives the board a loose feel while it's flat base and then while you're on an edge when you're snapping all these that camber underneath the front and back foot provides a little bit more pop. Then there's a little bit of early rise to lift up those contact points. The one thing to note about the Custom Flying V hybrid profile shape is that it has much more teeter totter than what you'll find in the Process Flying V version

The Flying V version profile shape of the custom is going to be a little bit more loose than your average board but still has a kind of a sturdiness under it

 The Flying V Wide actually sits within two of my top ten lists or top three lists for the 2020 season from Burton on freestyle and the big guy board which is nice. This is a directional style board. The nose is a touch longer and higher than the tail outside of the contact point but inside the contact point the board is basically twin and that's why the deck actually has a twin style flex. Now because it's a custom and it's well rounded for all mountain use so it's going to be stiffer than your average board that's why it has a feel and flex rating of a six

2020 Burton Custom Flying V Wide Snowboard

I’m at the intermediate level and i’m looking to buy a burton custom but I can’t decide between camber or flying v. I like to go fast but I also love to go thru trees and hit small and big jumps. Also, what size board do you recommend I buy considering i’m 6’2” and 180 lbs? Thanks

 Don't ever question that. Dear God, this board can butter. That camber profile, the shape of the board, the flex pattern, this is a board to get out on the tip of the tail. Really just press into it on the snow, swivel and sizzle

 This board is available in both regular and wide sizes. So, the Custom Flying V sits in that middle-of-the-road all-mountain freestyle flex. You got a little more play out of the tips, a little stiffer underfoot, then more play between the feet, and then a decent amount of torsional give. A lot of that is due in part to the camber profile

 So this is going to be a slightly directional shape, just a little more nose than tail to help you get through some crud if you find it. If you get it on a powder, it's going to be helpful there for sure. And then the profile is going to be rocker in between your feet, enough camber underfoot to give you good grip on some harder East Coast conditions, but still with that really nimble feel. It's nice and fluid turning one edge to the other

 This is the 20th season for the Burton Custom. It's a real popular board on the line, known for its versatility, being able to ride powder in the mornings and park laps in the afternoon.  As far as flex goes on this board it's going to be rated about a 6. It's got a directional shape and a twin flex. So the nose outside the contact points is going to be a little bit longer than the tail giving it the directional shape. But between the contact points it's a perfect true twin

Hi. I’m a 40yr old, 5’10” 180lb size 11 male living in the PNW. Last season was my first. Got out 20 or so days. Locked up a season pass at Meadows for next year. Family fell in love with the sport. 

I rode last season on an Arbor Element rocker 162mw. Worked well. I don’t know what I don’t know so want to add a second board of a camber/hybrid type and keep progressing. 

Riding wise....I’m an advanced beginner? Early intermediate? I spend most of my time on blue runs just turning. Can tackle single blacks without feeling like I’m going to die or backside plow all the way down. Didn’t hit them much mostly because I’m with my 10yr old daughter who also started last year. I get edge to edge and speed wise could keep up with some advanced friends (who weren’t completely sending it I’m sure but they commented they were surprised I was right with them) at the end of the year.

I will never spend a second in the park. If I do I made a wrong turn. I’m not going to be buttering. If I get air it wasn’t on purpose. I’m fine off groomers but I won’t be backcountry for awhile if ever. 

I feel like I have analysis paralysis on boards and there are 50 solid options. Help me out. 

Current top 3 is Lib Dynamo, Orca, or Yes Hybrid
