 But the Epic Flash, I was swinging just under 100, which is pretty typical, 98 to 99, and I was getting a ball speed of 146, which gave me a carry distance of 239, and we were hitting on pretty firm conditions. I was getting a rollout of 274. I had a spin rate of about 2,600 RPMs, which is appropriate. I had excellent flight characteristics

 And with the higher strength titanium, they're able to save six grams of weight, which is considerable when it comes to manipulating the weight in a driver. And they take the six grams out of the face, which is you need the face to be strong but you don't want it to be heavy, and then they reposition it at the back of the club, which increases the stability of the club or raises the MOI on off-center hits. This would be the shape of the new Maverick, and again, it's most noticeable on the sole. Callaway calls this their cyclone arrow design, and it has 15% less drag over previous model drivers from Callaway

 They're using the UST Helium Black, they're using the Project X Evenflow Riptide, and the Aldula Rogue White. Callaway is also carrying forward with the Align technology in the grip, and for the Maverick they're using the Tour Velvet Align. And I'm personally a big fan of this because such a slight variance in a player's hands on the club can have such a huge effect on the face angle. So anything we can do for consistency, I'm all for

Not what I was expecting

 I love that in the face of the driver I love the carbon fiber and I love the slight fade from black to carbon fiber in the head It's just looks really good at address looking down into the ball and I love the black which is the burnt worn little hints Color there to help just get you all set up and squared away Also love just looking down the shaft slight camouflage style pattern here in the black charcoal gray that Meshes into just a solid kind of a grayish charcoal color in the shaft this particular one at least so fantastic look fantastic design simple supposed to be more forgiving and Keep all the same good stuff that the that the rogue had Which is updated how exciting? All right. Now, let's smack some shots and see how she performs Exciting stuff. I have my sky track set up So I'll show you all the data as we go see what kind of spin rate all that good stuff we get All right, uh And I'll let you know how I like the sound feel all the other good stuff.  I'm hit him good be honest with you Skytrak doesn't it doesn't pick up swing speed as good when it starts getting darker. So Don't hate on that.  Just a single weight in the back personally, I prefer a single weight in the back and Other models I have played other brands I prefer a single weighted driver in the back just because I personally don't think You're gonna see much of a difference if you slide a weight here or there I don't think that's gonna correct a draw or fade But you do have the adjustability in the hosel you can go Two degrees in loft. So I have a 9 degree lofted driver. I can go anywhere from 8 down 1 degree or up 2 degrees 8 to 11 and I can adjust the hosel for a Neutral or I can go slightly draw bias. So I prefer neutral setup I like it just clean neutral set and I've got Standard 9 degree loft that I'm working with here

Nice club

 For ultimate forgiveness, the weight is as far back as possible, not really promising more clubhead speed, but a very forgiving driver. Now, price-wise, all of these are priced at £469 when they first come out and I'm intrigued to see if they actually do swing any faster. Now, a couple of bits of technology that have continued from Epic Flash and Rogue and even Epic going further back than that. The Mavericks still have jailbreak in the face

 I'm going to take it to the Golf Academy first and hit some shots with all three drivers, get a bit of a feel for them, tell you what I think about them, what I like the look of, what I don't like the look of. And I think it's only fair to test it out on the golf course because I've seen a statement from Callaway on their spiel at this end. They reckon the Maverick, and this is a bold statement, it's five yards longer than the Epic Flash. I'm going to test it out on the golf course

 That is crushed. So I'm halfway through the test and I'm hitting it well. I'm just going to move slightly on my tee location. So don't damage the tee and hit five more with each of the drivers before we see the results
