I agree with you about the Klipsch speakers.  It’s great that you’re enjoying your system so much.  After 1 1/2 years and 5 different amps I’m finally happy with my setup.  So I feel you.  Tell me more about your current cartridge. How would you describe the sound?

Thanks for the cartridge recommendations. Got a VM540ML and it outperformed my gear. Now I have a whole new system. Sounds good.

  The amp is also musical, with great imaging and decent soundstage, and great slim design.  The only cons are minor: no source direct button, no volume indication at all times (only when changing volume), barely-ok speaker binding posts. I deleted my last post - it wasn't clear enough, and I've spent a good amount of time since last night (I'm neurotic like that) about "bookshelf" speakers - and WAF.  Speakers will be powered by a [SONOS Amp](https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/amp.html) (this is not necessarily the unit - I am open to other suggestions for an A/V receiver, with a budget of $350)  - I am getting one for a great price.  **My budget is $300**, but the less expensive, the better.

Household music consists of jam rock, progressive, metal, pop & country via NAS or streaming.

My question: what is going to be the best bang for my buck:

Replacing a Bose Bar with bookshelf speakers that will be powered by a SONOS Amp - more info in first post

 Sound was dark, not warm but dark and not very transparent. For the money i was just going to let it go, but the front panel buttons went out completely so we returned it. If your buying this for the phono, spend a little more for Rega IO integrated and you get a phono stage that is worth the price of the amp plus good transparent sound with the same watts for a little more cash. That’s what we did and very very happy with the change

Bought this for my Son to use with a Music hall classic turntable. The phono stage is no better than a built in on an entry level record player. Sound was dark, not warm but dark and not very transparent. For the money i was just going to let it go, but the front panel buttons went out completely so we returned it

nice set up! got the r-51m's as well paired with the cambridge axa35 and they sound fantastic. gonna be hooking up a sub soon to really make them even better.

All in for around 340 bucks (minus the records lol). Stands and receiver were nice Christmas gifts!

This is my out of the box thoughts Nice aluminum faceplate and chassis Vary cheap plastic volume control And. Software driven control panel for adjusting tone and balence has A IEC POWER CABLE a surprise at this price Its punchy and crisp and it's rated 35 wpc Is more then enugh for most bookshelf speakers likely to be used with an amp in this price range the PHONO STAGE Is VARY GOOD VARY CLEAN AND QUIET And it really surprised me I will update this review after the amp has some more hours on it I can say it seems to have a lot of clarity

I currently run a basic amp, Cambridge Audio AXA35 with Audioengine D1 DAC. 

I’m planning to upgrade my amp, and I’ve decided on a few options:

1. Audiolab 6000a (900 $)
2. Marantz PM7000n (1200 $)
3. Cambridge Audio CXA81 (1200 $)
4. Musical Fidelity m2si / m3si (950 / 1450 $)

My first priority is music quality. Something with good lower end, velvety mids and crisp upper end;  preferably a forward and wide soundstage. Trying to limit budget to 1300 $. 

I would like some streaming capabilities, but it’s not the most urgent priority right now. 

Would love to hear your thoughts.
