 Alright so real quick as we open this, the first thing we find are the instruction manual in here, we'll also pull out the actual stove top here, set that down. We have the legs here in this bag, we'll get this all assembled and we have the guard that goes around the outside. Now if you can see this flanged end hooks on all four for each of the legs and you have this little wing nut here to tighten. Now the heat shield when it goes on, you can see it has these little brackets that just go over the metal on the outside

 Hey friends, it's Fuller Farm and we're going to do an unboxing and review of the Explorer by Camp Chef. This is a two burner stove you can use for camping or for cooking and we got this one at Cabela's on sale for $75 so we're going to get this unboxed and take a look at it.  There's all sorts of attachments from a grill on the top to you can also have a griddle or if you're doing steaks you could be cooking on that as well so if you haven't tried them out there, great, highly recommend it, it's what we use at Fuller Farm. Here comes some steam, starting to get some bubbles on the very bottom, it's getting closer and there's our rolling boil, so that took about 7 minutes to go to a full boil, it was uncovered, it's 40 degrees outside, had it on high, half a gallon of water, not bad. Just for fun we're going to take this boiling pot of water and pour it on this leftover patch of snow, which is about the last of the snow from the storm, see how it reacts.  Now we've already used this cooker for about a week in Ohio Pile State Park, cooked all of our meals on this, it was really great, did well, performed well. Great thing about these is you can also use them if you're canning, if you want to cook outside it's always good when you're canning to cook on gas, it's much more efficient when you're canning. Great buy, especially for $75, can't go wrong with that. Whether for camping or for a survival situation, highly recommend the Camp Chef line, I know they get even more expensive than this basic Explorer model

Amazon is refunding me $300 to my Amazon account. I’m done buying dumb materialistic things I don’t need. I’ve decided I’m going to use this money for prepping. My bf and I want to live off grid in the near future. He is going to work to support us till we are ready. My job to is to learn skills we need to survive and acquire INCH bag supplies. Right now on my list I have saved a huge survival heirloom non gmo seed kit and medicinal herb seeds kit on Amazon. Does anyone have any suggestions for things to buy off Amazon that are worth the money?

<p>Edit: Okay my BF and I decided we want to eventually end up in either Iowa, Idaho, or Oregon. We are leaning towards Oregon to have access to other homesteaders because I don’t think my BF no longer wants to be completely off the grid. I did some research and Oregon sounds like the place to go for homesteading but if we don’t leave before SHTF then we will probably have more luck making it to Iowa.</p>

My budget is $300 but I can only get supplies from Amazon. What do you recommend I buy?

 We took this camping in 90+ plus degree temperatures and very glad that we could cook outside the trailer instead of inside, particularly as we were dry camping a few nights.  Now the Cons:  The stove is hot. Even on the lowest setting with a decent breeze the pot was boiling instead of simmering. If you need to cook something on low heat, this isn't the stove for you

 So we're going to go ahead and assemble this and get it together. Okay so the legs went on extremely easy, I'm going to show you guys how to put on this windscreen here, so you'll just lock the two sides here first and then you'll want to grab it from the back and again it's just got the tabs right here, they just slide right into place and that's it. Very easy install on the windscreen. So overall it just took about one minute to assemble and put together, which really isn't too bad

 Alright so we've been heating up for just a few minutes here and we're ready to go now. So since we've got our grill box and our griddle here we're able to do a couple of different things. So we're going to go ahead and throw some sausages on the grill over here and over here on the griddle we're going to go ahead and throw a couple burgers on and we're also going to do a couple pieces of bacon, we're going to do bacon cheeseburgers. Alrighty so we're going to let that go for a few minutes and we'll be back to check and see how it's doing

 Make sure it's nice and tight and you'll just go ahead and open your propane tank and we are ready to start cooking. Okay so Camp Chef offers a number of different accessories that you can purchase for their stoves. Those including a barbecue grill box, cookware, flat top griddles, and an artisan pizza oven. So what we have here today is the barbecue grill box

 It looks like the bacon is just about done here so we're going to move that off to the side and it looks like our burgers only have a few minutes left so we're going to get some cheese on these and we'll top it with that bacon and we should be good to go. Alright guys so here is our final product and it turned out fantastic. Couple of things I wanted to point out to you guys, I did notice a little bit of wobble in the stove while cooking on it, however if you pick up the leg levelers that Camp Chef offers we'll take care of that issue. Other than that the grill did outstanding, it gets four and a half out of five stars

Is Coleman still the standard in stoves?

 4) Again, While you're at the hardware store, replace the 10psi rubber hose with a steel braided one. 5) I've found the grill has uneven heating for slower cooking that is easily solved with the use of ceramic stones to provide indirect heat (avoid the flavored ones); the added perk is they end up saving you a bit on propane use as well.

 4) Relatively easy tear down & reassembly, I'd give this an 7.5/10 and I couldn't expect much better from a 14x32 duel burner. 5) Amazing when using the grill and griddle box. It's nice to be able to switch between the small grill, standard burner for pots, and griddle for various meals

 I've used the grill now extensively as my primary grill for my home, tailgates, and camping for the last 3 years.  Pros:  1) The heat, the cooking time is variable but for 2" cuts of strip and t-bone I get a nice sear to medium-rare in about 2-3 minutes a side with the grill-box. 2) Portability, but not with their tote bag (see 'other'). 3) Utilizes ceramic heating stones and hickory/mesquite wood pellets well (foil smoke bomb)

 I've found better solutions in some quality outdoor canvas duffel bags. 2) Head to your hardware store and replace the butterfly screws for the leg poles to solid metal ones. 3) If you purchase the side tables, do not get their cover.

 That's pretty simple. If you needed it, these just clip on. I'm just going to use one burner, this burner going. You push it in a little bit, it's already going, now that's hot

 Cooking is a huge undertaking when you're camping. I use it, when we go camping, Carmen and I go camping, I use a Coleman stove, it's not always the greatest, it's not even heat, everything's very close together, so you get a very hot center and a cool outer part. So this is something that's a little bigger, it just disperses the heat a little more and definitely with the cast iron it works very well. So in my eyes, the Camp Chef Explorer, thumbs up

 So, I've got a couple of things going on today. I went back to where I went yesterday fishing and I ended up getting three trout, which I'll show you in a minute, and I'm also going to be cooking them on the outside in a cast iron pan, of course, with the Camp Chef stove that I purchased from Cabela's, I don't know, ten, ten or more years ago, and I heard they ever use it, so it'll almost be my review. It's almost like it's new. So, I ended up going back to Howells Pond where I went yesterday

The other option is the Blue Rhino Razor portable. I was thinking this one might be nice because it'll be easier to get into the backyard then a whole ass grill if we decide to have a pool party. But some people were saying it is easy to damage the brass fitting and it doesnt have enough BTUs.

  The stove itself looks to me to be built like a main battle Tank. Just love the design. Put the stove together and the heat output was amazing.  The thumb screws that hold the legs in place are a joke with what looks like cheap plastic turn handles

  I am a dutch oven fanatic. Recently went to a Cee Dub dutch oven clinic. Cee Dub uses this type of stove in his clinics and although well used I was impressed with the heat output of his stove. One reason Dutch Oven folks love this style stove is the open bottom lets the chef put a charcoal chimney full of charcoal on a burner and it heats up the charcoal and the resulting dirt falls through

 I opened up every thing and stove lit right off the bat. Amazing.  The stove itself looks to me to be built like a main battle Tank. Just love the design

  My take is I am gonna love this stove cooking on the deck or out of my pickup truck. Do not think it will be used on a raft trip due to size and weight, but I wish I could take it to group cook big pot meals and gallons of coffee each morning.  I ordered the carry bag as well. This bag is a bit better quality than the inside bag but looking at the cloth I would be surprised if it lasts for multiple trips

I am a long time outdoor cook person. Started out with the old Coleman two burners. Long as they were made in USA these were the bomber outdoor stoves and I still have one. Soon as they shifted manufacturing to China quality went to dismal and I stopped using them

Powerful Stove, made in China and always suspect quality from there but stove basic parts do look good. Big and heavy.

 They do have a one burner griddle just for 10, I want the big one. We've used it this week, cooking pork chops, going fish. We have loved it. We cooked our hamburgers on it last night, and so we're going to do a big breakfast on it this morning

 It's really working out well. If you saw in some of our last videos, we had a small tabletop Colvin griddle that we've had for years. We actually got that from Brittany's grandfather. And we've been using it for quite a while

 The griddles in the grill world are getting big, and we started talking about one. This is one we can easily pack up. The legs come loose, you can set it on tabletop, use it just that way, or you can put the legs on it. They do come with it

 We're going to put this thing to real work. We haven't loaded it up yet, so we're going to see how good it does. We wanted this one because we could take the griddle off and have the burners for camping so we could use our skillet or we could put our fry pot on it and fry fish. I've got my big pot, I can do a low country boil on this thing
