Canon EOS 6D Still Great For Portraits In 2021. See Amazing Beautiful Images. [ Lense And Exposure Details Added]

Canon basically ceded the entry-level pro performance market to Nikon in 2005 with the arrival of the  	D200; since then, Canon's 30D, 40D, and 50D have taken the slower but less-expensive road, with a relatively stagnant AF system, which Nikon leapfrogged. But with entirely new AF and metering systems, a new high-resolution eight-channel readout sensor coupled with dual Digic 4 image processors and a new 100 percent coverage viewfinder, plus 1080p video capture, the 7D looks like an aggressive attempt to make a comeback. 	  In addition to a  	body-only version, Canon sells the 7D in a kit with the 28-135mm f3.5-5

 While the raw files have excellent dynamic range, the tonality in the JPEG versions look a little more compressed than I'm happy with, and more than can be explained away by a difference in bit depth (the same raw image opened as 16-bit in Photoshop and then downconverted to 8-bit retains better contrast). 	  As for the video, it looks very good, though to me not nearly as sharp or saturated as a midrange Canon HD camcorder (the trade-off, here, of course, is interchangeable lenses for a reasonable price). 	  The biggest draw for current Canon users thinking of stepping up from the 50D (or that class of camera) to the 7D is the improved autofocus and better photo quality at higher ISO sensitivities; it's significantly better than the 50D in those respects, and well worth the price differential. Things aren't quite as clear when compared with the 5D Mark II

 On one hand, the 5DMII's photo quality remains superior across the board, and the benefits of getting true wide angle on a full-frame camera shouldn't be understated. But the 7D's autofocus is perceptibly faster and more accurate, the operational controls are, for the most part, more streamlined to use, I like the viewfinder better, and the 7D's video options are more flexible and better implemented. That's a lot of "but" for about $1,000.  I also think the 7D slightly edges out over the D300s, in part thanks to better body design and performance, though the former is clearly subjective

 The spot and single-area AF also seem to work faster and more accurately than in models like the 50D and 5D Mark II. (Although there's been a bit of discussion on the Web from people who've experienced autofocus problems--a chunk of which I attribute to the complexity of the new AF options and issues with comparisons across differing resolutions and settings, but some of which potentially raise valid quality-control concerns--I had no problems with our test unit.) Autofocus in Live View and movie capture modes remains slow and clunky, however, and is still difficult in direct sunlight because of the LCD. 	  With the 7D, Canon introduced a new 63-area metering system as well--iFCL (Intelligent Focus, Color, Luminance)--intended to improve exposure accuracy and consistency in scenes with high contrast or frequently changing lighting

 It has that a scannin character to it, but looking at it right now, you can see there's a lack of fine detail, especially when you're viewing things at full 1080p. Now they have made some improvements, this shoots, 60p, it's the only other Canon besides the c100 mark 2 or the one DC, there's cinema cameras that will shoot 1080, 60 P, no mori or aliasing issues, but still quite soft, so you've got to be willing to sharpen These images up a little bit, that's kind of the defining trait of this camera. Looking at the low-light performance of the 7d mark 2, we're going to ramp up from 800 all the way up to 16,000, and you can see it's pretty good. It'S a big jump over the 7d and actually a little better than the 70d as well

 The shutter mechanism is incredibly stable. It'S an aps-c sized mirror, so that helps, but with the weight of the camera. The design that they're using here the shutter is just so stable. I'M getting sharp handheld pictures, no problem walking around with a 300 mil equivalent and it's working fantastic and I'm still at ISO 100

 For me, it's change, um and yeah. I love the experience of shooting with this camera, I would say it is easily, but in terms of the autofocus, the responsiveness, the buffer, everything on it is about the best thing canons ever put out. I would agree with that. You know using this body

Welcome back to easiest viewers Chris Nichols here from the camera store, and today it is our turn to look at the canon 7d mark 2. Now, just so you guys know at home, we are actually filming the entire episode on a 7d mark. It'S going to give you a good idea of the video characteristics and quality which are going to come to later on in the episode you know, one of the interesting things guys have to remember with a canon 7d in 70 mark the heritage here, the 7d was One of the most popular journalistic and wildlife cameras that canon ever made - and it came out five years ago and the fact is canon - has actually been very slow on releasing new SL ours. So now, five years later, we've got a 7d mark

Thanks to the camera's large APS-C sensor, video shot with the 7D is of much higher quality than footage captured with a consumer-grade HD camcorder. Even television broadcasting professionals have found its image quality acceptable for certain tasks&#151;NBC used the camera to shoot portions of Saturday Night Live's opening title sequence.

The $1,699 (list, body only) 18-megapixel Canon EOS 7D takes beautiful pictures&#151;in a wide variety of lighting situations. But the true lure of the Canon 7D is that it's the only sub-$2,000 D-SLR that offers a multitude of high-definition video-capture options. If versatile HD video isn't a priority for you, however, you can get the same still-image results from other Canon and Nikon D-SLRs that are much less expensive, like the $800 (with lens) Canon EOS Digital Rebel T1i or the $900 (body only) Nikon D90.

While video looks phenomenal, capturing it isn't as easy as it is with a traditional camcorder. If you choose to change focus or zoom while recording, the camera will pick up the noise of the autofocus motor and the lens as it changes focal lengths. The camera is also unable to continuously autofocus while recording, so if your subjects move out of focus, you'll have to refocus manually or hit the autofocus button. Refocusing while recording is very slow too

 As such, it's really not left wanting for anything. He couldn't cost me a bit greedy and wished that calendar 2 fitted it with a full-frame sensor instead, but that in turn would have made this body much more expensive and had the resolution been any higher, then that continuous shooting speed would have been compromised. You really can't have everything in this kind of body. If you do go for this DSLR, though there's one thing you will want to equip it with and that's a decent lens from day one I've got it mounted here with canons EF 24 to 105 millimeter

For a five times view and now a 10 times view - and this allows me to absolutely confirm this - auto, focusing either manually or automatic to go for the automatic just to show you there we go and now I'm going to try turning the manual focusing ring to Again, show you how precisely you can do this turning it in and out until you get that looking absolutely right, and since this is a natural live feed from the sensor, what you see here is absolutely what you're going to get

 This first clip was filmed with a 17-9 a tripod, and I should note that I switch back to my camcorder to record the audio for this narration. Now you can autofocus, while filming with the 7d, but it's no quicker than the contrast based system in live view. It takes several seconds and a search isn't really appropriate for most situations if you've got zoom lens you're welcome to zoom it while you're filming, but this is best done with a camera mounted on a tripod, and this shot was filmed with a 24 to 105, fully Zoomed in at this point with is enabled its handheld and so long as I keep that planning fairly smooth. I managed not to incur the wrath of the dreaded jello effect, but as soon as you try and zoom out handheld, it's quite difficult to do that smoothly and also without twisting the camera's body

 That you’re using it on a crop is a little bit of a red flag, also. EF lenses behave a little differently on EF-S cameras, so it being soft wide open at 70mm on your 7D doesn’t surprise me, exactly.

Hello everybody,

i've been given this old 24-70 f2.8 mkI, which is an amazing lens, but i have been dealing with an issue. When i shot at 70mm 2.8, the shot seems "soft" in a way (as you can see in the photo in the wheel) whenever i close the aperture it gets better. The lens has a little bit of damage in the back element, can it be the cause? Or is it something that is common in this lenses?

P.S. i shot on a crop bodies (7D mkI and a 90D)

24-70 F2.8 soft at 70mm

 After four months of taking pictures with my quality professional Sigma lens I had used with success on my 50D, all I ended up with were out of focus, incorrect forward and / or rearward focus, substantial noise at ISO speeds above 1200, poor sharpness, and soft images. In doing additional online research, I located numerous blogs, threads, and website devoted to 7D issues I was now experiencing from 2009! Most people state Canon refuses to admit a problem and refuses to replace defective 7D's they are unable and / or unwilling to repair! Why would Amazon sell such a camera with this type of "black cloud" on their website? Canon knows about and Amazon should have known about these 7D problems!  I believed my camera to be defective!! In an attempt to fix the problem, I followed Canon's telephone advice and; 1.) Did a "hard-restart" which involved removing the main battery and clock battery, 2.) Removed all lens filters from my lens, 3

 Canon "claimed" to have sent me a email link where I could send them my pictures. Funny thing is, to date I have not received a email link, over three weeks.  Update, tonight, after following a Canon 7D users following "tips"; Verify the AF in aperture priority and shutter priority using a single AF point and multiple AF points. It is also important to remember to set the proper Custom Function III

 The AF on the 7D is better than what most people who shoot casually need and it has a learning curve. Shooting in full auto may also give you bad results.  C.Fn III-1 (Tracking Sensitivity): slow (this is on fast by default) C

8 APO DG HSM in "Tv" mode shot in RAW format and ended up with some pictures that, outside of more noise, where comparable to my recently purchased Canon 5D Mark II! Also, I have taken some day photos and most, not all, are in focus, correct forward and / or rearward focus, less noise at ISO speeds above 1200, sharper and less soft?  I have been taking photos for eight years and never have been more challenged by a camera like the Canon 7D. I am still disappointed with Amazon and disgusted with Canon.

otherwise the most important things for me is really good quality and sharp images, good indoor/low light performance, good autofocus and ideally small size. 

im thinking between Sony a7iii and Canon Rp, but also am i maybe missing some other great option? any thoughts are welcome, pls
