 The m50 comes with a really impressive 24.1 megapixel aps-c CMOS sensor. How canon says that it's the same sensor that's used on the m5 m6 m100 and then several Canon DSLRs. I think this is a great sensor for an entry-level camera, because you're getting outstanding performance without breaking the bank in general, a bigger sensor is better and a bigger sensor is better because it's able to use more information to get an image with more detail and better Dynamic range - and this aps-c sensor is going to be great for landscape photography if you're doing street photography or if you want to take this camera on the road with you when you travel or even just doing family and lifestyle photography, it's also a great choice

Canon M50 Mirrorless Camera: Ultimate Review

I've been using the Canon G1 X Mark III for a year now and I want to get another camera as an upgrade (I won't stop using the G1 X Mark III). For a long time, I had the Canon EOS RP in mind because I thought it would be logically an entry point for me into full frame photography.

I'm not a professional photographer but I use cameras as part of the work I do (photography, videos, vlogging) so I require the stuff I carry to be as light and minimalistic as possible. That's why I chose the RP. I was thinking of getting it with the RF 35 mm 1.8.

But I also need my gear to be future proof and since the RP doesn't have dual pixel autofocus in 4k and it has a crop in 4k, I started thinking if it was worth it (I'm not gonna record videos in 4k now since I record them only at 1080p now but I'll at one point of time start using 4k).

This was when I started watching videos and reviews of the M6 Mark II and it seems to be a good camera albeit with a smaller sensor compared to the RP.

My photography consists of street, portrait, landscape, product, and toy (mostly action figure).

Based on this, please suggest which of the two cameras I should go for. What would I be losing or gaining with either of them? Both of them are within my budget so price is not a problem for me.

RP or M6 Mark II (upgrading from G1 X Mark III)

Recently, just start learning how to take great photos and videos. After searching for days, I decided to get Canon M50 with EF-M 15-45mm for several reasons.  What is good about it? -Good direct photo output -Lower price compared to other brands -FE Lens affordability and variety. -Vari-angle Touchscreen LCD -Dual Pixel CMOS AF for fast, accurate autofocus -High-resolution electronic viewfinder -Wifi App feature -Beginner-friendly UI and description

  My recommendation will be getting an EF adapter and get the 50mm F1.4 =equal to 80mm on this cropped camera.

My recommendation will be getting an EF adapter and get the 50mm F1.4 =equal to 80mm on this cropped camera

 We still have a mic jack on it: great dual pixel autofocus, if you're not as serious about video. This is not a bad starter option, but I do think you can get more compelling cameras from Sony and Panasonic in this price point right now. And if you look at the m50 at the price point, although kudos to Canada for trying to get the price point down, it's still high enough that it's not gon na compete with cameras like the a6000 at that price, and it has to be forced to compete Against cameras like g 85 s xt, 20s and a 6300 s, and that's where you run into some problems: okay, so the m50 is not gon na

Canon EOS M50 Hands-On Field Test

The Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM is fantastic; my wife uses hers with her EOS M50. Nice lightweight prime, excellent image quality, and overall a great compact setup for wildlife photography, especially when hiking.

I’ve recently upgrade from a T3i to a 90d. I love it so far. I have the Sigma 18-35 Art lense and the Canon 24-105 L. I’m trying to find a longer range zoom lense that will work with the APSC sensor. Main use for the lense would be bird photography. I’ve read lots of reviews and watched plenty of YouTube reviews and seem to get more confused the more I read in to it. I was leaning toward the Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM. It can be found used for reasonable prices and seems like it would be a good fit. My only problem is that after lots of reading it seems it loses its crispness when it is put on an APSC sensor. Will all EF lenses lose some crispness if the are put on a crop sensor? Any help clarifying this and any recommendations on a lense that you have  or maybe have had on a 90d that was used for longer zoom ranges would be greatly appreciated!

Confusion on zoom lenses for 90d

At a hefty 600 dollar price tag the Canon m50 is kind of mediocre. My biggest complaint with this camera is the absolutely atrocious lowlight performance. Even if you’re not using the kit lens (which is crap by the way) you pretty much have to be in direct light to otherwise your image quality is full of noise. My iPhone 7’s camera produces less noisey images than this thing

This camera can technically shoot 4K video but unless your subject is almost completely static the footage isn’t really usable because the autofocus is crap

Save up for something higher end

 Well, this is sort of taking things to the next level now. The ninth reason i like the m50 mark ii is the evf or electronic viewfinder. I get a lot of questions about the m50 mark ii versus the sl2 or sl3 or another. Similarly, priced dslr at this point, it's going to be challenging for me to pick a dslr over a mirrorless camera for photography, because the electronic viewfinder is such a better choice like first of all, it actually shows you your exposure, so as you make adjustments to aperture Shutter speed and iso, you will see the image get brighter or darker right in front of your eye in real time now

 But i don't know anything about cameras and if your gear is not easy to use, it adds a lot of friction to the creative process and you're way less likely to use it. If every time you try to take a picture of every time, you try to record a video when you're on vacation, you feel, like you, have to fight your camera, to get it to work. You'Ll just say: forget it and use your phone. When i look at all the gear that i have here to record, my videos, ergonomics and ease of use were right there at the top of my list of priorities

 Detection in the optical viewfinder can't compete with the m50 mark ii's autofocus in terms of accuracy and versatility. The next reason i like the m50 mark ii is a clean hdmi output, and that means that the camera can send out a clean signal and it can be used to stream or record externally. A lot of people immediately. Think of live streaming in terms of gaming or a youtube channel, which this camera can absolutely do, but you can also use it as a webcam for zoom and then get much better quality than your laptop camera or webcam

 Now there are times when it's not an issue, but if i want a small and light camera body and lens to put in my pocket and go do some vlogging. I love how small the m50 mark ii and the original m50 are. If i'm going on a hike or if i'm traveling i'd rather not bring a big and heavy camera setup, if i can avoid it and when i want to go and do some street photography, there's a real advantage to being a little more stealthy with a small Setup and the next reason i like the m50 mark ii, is accurate and easy to use autofocus a good autofocus is a feature that i place a very high priority on if the photo or video are not in focus pretty much. Nothing else matters now, in addition to the autofocus being accurate

Screen has already started flickering out, reaching out for warranty to Canon.

 That crop is really pushing in on your footage, which makes it a little difficult to Vlog. Sometimes, like I mean I'm, holding this out pretty pretty far, so you can see all around me and it's nice with the screen'cause. I can have someone next to me and I can look over here at the monitor and make sure they're framed up nicely and dual pixel autofocus is gon na work when we're shooting in 1080p. But it's not gon na work when we're shooting in 4K and it's punching in quite a bit more

, So I should be able to move over here I should be in focus should be able to move over here and I'm in focus. If I come all the way back, I should still be in focus without having to worry about anyone behind the camera manning it or anything like that., So obviously yeah a different quality 4K coming out of the camera, one tenth, the cost of the camera that you're Looking at right now, but still a great starting point., So I mean you got ta, keep in mind that this is an entry-level camera
