 The Canon EOS 2000D is an entry-level camera, but is it any good? Well, it kind of sucks What's going on guys Gary Aman here back at it again with a new video Hope everybody's feeling safe and it's fine right now here in the Netherlands. It's like 34 degrees Celsius So I am sweating really quite hard this right now filming in the evening actually still but it's very hot So you might see me sweating during this video but anyways I want to share my experience with this little guy the Canon EOS 2000D because I think there are a lot of Photographers a lot of people actually out there that want to upgrade from their smartphone photography to a real camera So they might come across the Canon EOS 2000D thinking that this might be a great camera, but is it actually? It has its good points and bad stuff So so let's talk about the specs first the Canon EOS 2000D has an APS-C camera 24.1 megapixels 9 AF points or autofocus points and if you want to do video it can do 1080p up to 30 frames per second and also a little bit of slow motion in 720p 60 frames per second so not a whole lot of like beautiful specs or things too that really Explodes your mind. That's not mind-blowing and stuff

 You will see that The overall enjoyment of using this camera is not as as you expected maybe You know because you will see that it will focus very very slowly and you will notice that the images will not be in focus all those stuff But yeah, if you are willing to learn and go through it Then you will notice that this is actually quite a bad camera in terms of its performance But when you do hit the performance or when you do get a nice picture Even in low-light conditions as you see right here You know if your objects are very still if you got the time Then you can produce some nice images with this camera for all other things This camera is not the way to go. I rather spend money on a different camera Maybe even the Sony a6000 then you will actually enjoy a little more With the results. I think that's the best way to put it. So to conclude is it possible To create great images with this camera

 You can use it for filming stuff, but It's not that nice The quality is not that nice. Yeah, so an overall do I really recommend this camera for beginners? No, I don't recommend this camera. I really don't recommend this because I think if you're let's say you are having now a smartphone that can take some good pictures and Then you're going to switch to this camera. You will have a bad time with this camera You will see that most of your pictures will not be in focus

 We got the HDMI out It's a mini HDMI then a little old-school USB type of Input and then a little input for your timer or remote And at the bottom we got the battery compartment and the SD card slot Actually the battery life of this little guy is quite good and after like a week or so of using it I still didn't need to charge my battery because I took some photos I didn't took it for a whole day but just in several days all across the week using this camera whenever I needed to and I didn't and the battery life was really great So that's a good thing of this camera the battery life and the grip itself feels really really good these switches and everything It feels very solid No, like really squishy or anything on the outside how it looks. It's very plasticky It's not like pro grade or anything. It's not weather sealed whatsoever It has a little built-in flash that pops up like so Yeah, if you want to blind people with your flash, then this is definitely the way to go But if you don't want to use flash, you can just drop it down like this I only recommend using this flash if you really need to or if you are willing to have this kind of Different look so that's about it for these pecs and outside the body. It feels really good in the hand nice small compact camera Including the kit lens

I don’t know which camera to buy

 You cannot connect the camera via Wi-Fi to the Wi-Fi enabled Canon EOS Utility on a desktop or laptop, in order to download pictures to your computer wirelessly. I was a bit surprised, given that I had a Wi-Fi enabled camera and a Wi-Fi enabled Canon utility that the two would not work together, but apparently Canon chose not to include that feature in the camera's firmware. All the hardware is there to do it, it is simply a software feature not included.  So, I knocked a star off of what would have been a 5 star review for the missing feature, and another star off for not making it clear that their Wi-Fi support didn't support one of the most obvious features

Overall a good entry level camera with one glaring omission

 All of that is built right into the EOS Rebel T7 so again you're getting the essentials for what you need to make great content. All in all it has a lot of great features and a dope looking chassis as you can have that matte black finish at the top and of course the black grainy texture and grip on the sides all of which makes this EOS Rebel T7 deserving of a check for the build. The performance here is exceptional considering it's geared towards beginner photographers and filmmakers. For just $500 you're getting a 24 megapixel sensor and an ISO range of 100 to 6400 meaning you're going to be able to take high quality photos and videos even in low light situations

It also has a mini USB port, a mini HDMI port and of course your slots for your battery and SD card. All of that is built right into the EOS Rebel T7 so again you're getting the essentials for what you need to make great content. All in all it has a lot of great features and a dope looking chassis as you can have that matte black finish at the top and of course the black grainy texture and grip on the sides all of which makes this EOS Rebel T7 deserving of a check for the build

What should my first camera be?

I returned the product since the picture quality was not worth of the camera price. But Amazon didn't refund the amount yet, though the amount is big not sure they delayed. The product was returned as it is with no damages or changes.

 My biggest beef with the Canon T7 is that it ships with the old 18 to 55 millimeter non-STM lens. The STM lenses are so much better than the old non-STM lens. The old non-STM lens make a lot of noise when focusing, and they also do this really weird thing when zooming, and that's definitely weird, but that's just something that we've seen with this lens for the past 10 years. The T7 can shoot 1080p video at 30 frames a second

 ISO 6400 is the max native ISO that the T7 can shoot. And as you can see, both these pictures are very clean. More expensive cameras would have advantages over the T7 is using those higher ISOs, and that's because they have more expensive and better image processors. When shooting both these cameras at ISO 6400 or less, there's going to be almost no difference as far as image quality between these two cameras

 Now before you guys go crazy, I didn't say that the T7 has the same image quality. I said it has the exact same sensor quality. There is a difference. But that being said, in a controlled studio environment, I can take the exact same quality pictures on the T7 as I can with the Canon 80D

 Now people who bought the Canon 80D, the T7i, or the SL2 are going to be relatively sad to find out that the T7, which only costs $550 with the lens, has the exact same sensor of all these cameras. Now there are definitely reasons to go out and buy the Canon 80D, and there's reasons to buy the SL2. All these cameras are better than the T7. But when strictly talking about sensor quality, all these cameras are the exact same

If you know what you’re doing, you can get a lot done with just the kit lense

 I still have the camera, I can see, but another thing I'm not a fan of, but my, the Nikon camera didn't have this either. Well it did, but it didn't. I would like a viewfinder that flips out so that I can just see myself in the viewfinder, which I really don't need that because I have the phone app so I could just see myself on the phone.
