If you want a model with good photo printing quality, the best printer with cheap ink that we've tested is the Canon PIXMA G7020. While its retail cost is a bit on the pricey side, it's well worth it if you can spend more upfront to save money later. It has four refillable tanks, and it comes with two extra black bottles along with the typical four black and color bottles that come with most printers. It means you don't have to worry about black ink for a long time after the initial buy.

This model is a lot better than the others on this list in photo quality. Its images are more detailed, and there's much less graininess and banding. Its color accuracy is decent, and while some colors are a little off from their originals, your pictures will still look nice and natural. It takes less than a minute to print a 4&quot; x 6&quot; photo, and it accepts many other paper sizes and weights.

Unfortunately, it has a tiny, two-line display screen, similar to most scientific calculators. If the message or menu title is long, you have to wait for it to scroll, which is annoying when other models have much larger, touchscreen displays. Also, it isn't fast at printing monochrome or color documents, which might be an issue for you if you want to use this printer for other non-photo uses. If neither of these two issues bothers you, you'll be happy with this model.

 I wish companies would be responsible and quit producing garbage that winds up in the land fill with minimal use. This will weigh HEAVILY in my mind before I EVER purchase another product by Canon. The thought of not replacing ink looks attractive, but I never would have had to. This product wasn't even made to last through a set of cartridges maybe two

 Pigment inks are more water resistant and produce sharper, and more vivid colors.  The rear paper tray has worked well for me. No paper jams. Easy to access

 However, if it does, you will save on ink.  To save our landfills, parts like printheads and ink waste pads should be reasonably priced and easily replaceable by the consumer. This is still an issue.  I have had this printer since May 2018 and many printers over the last thirty years

 All of these printers should be recalled for a firmware update because they are shipped their Wifi is simultaneously a security risk and completely broken. Buyer beware unless you are a comfortable with logging into your router and downgrading your security to a lower encryption standard (I cannot recommend that under any circumstances).  Oh yeah, and you'll need a flashlight to read the screen on the printer. Sigh

 I mean color output does not rival a color laser printer. I saw better color prints on an Epson inkjet 20 years ago. Everything is faded and not crisp/clean. But

  I stubbornly stuck with HP for years, but always seemed to have problems with them and grew increasingly more frustrated with how dang expensive the ink cartridges got over time, and how fast they seemed to get empty. Unless something drastically changes with this Canon 7020, I'm super happy to say goodbye to HP printers forever and even the ridiculously useless LCD screen can't dampen my enthusiasm to have made the switch.

 The paper did not "catch" as before and seems to be doing well. I have been using it periodically for a month now and is working fine. I have not printed any photos with it yet, but that was not the main reason for buying this printer. It can print photos, but its primary use would not be for this

I was looking forward to this buy (PIXMA G7020). My previous printer lasted beyond its shelf life, but the print cartridges cost sometimes more than just buying a new printer. I decided on this printer, it was recently released into operation and after filtering through the reviews on the correct printer (it seems like all Canon printers reviews are listed, not only for this model) that it should be fairly good. I did receive the replacement printer. It took slightly longer, but it did arrive, so here is the update review.  I was able to set the replacement printer up as with the first one and connect to my laptop and phone just fine. This time I had no problems printing with it

How to fix connection problems with Canon G6020 (G6000 Series)

The Canon PIXMA G6020 is a very printer and it is replacing a cartridge-based HP printer for which I have not been able to buy ink cartridges for several months now. The amount of ink that is in the “Supertank” ink reservoirs is impressive and I have read that it contains about the same amount of ink as 84 ink cartridges! Even if it is a small fraction of that, the economics of buying a big bottle of ink for $12 vs paying twice that much or more for a much lower capacity ink cartridge is obvious. In fact, just two complete ink cartridge replacements on my previous HP printer would pay for this new Canon printer and all the ink that came with it (one of each color and three bottles of black)! I am so glad to get out of the paying big $ for ink cartridges, assuming you can even get them.  Print quality seems fine, but it is a bit slower than the HP I am replacing
