Overall though it's a stunner and deserving of our Endurance Bike of the Year title.

It's a race bike and came with quite small (23c) tyres so naturally only been using it on roads and paved cyclepaths. I'm looking to upgrade in the next 6-9months, but obviously with the current bike shortage, I'm trying to plan ahead and start looking now. Originally my plan was to get a more endurance focused bike (Ribble Endurance, Bianchi Infinito, Cervelo Caledonia or Cannondale Synapse) with a carbon frame and Ultegra groupset.

For endurance bikes it seems like my main options are: Trek Domane SL5, Cannondale Synapse 105C, and Cervelo Caledonia 105. And their gravel lineup is: Trek Checkpoint SL5, Niner RLT 4* 2x build, and Cannondale Topstone 1. Right now I'm eyeing the Niner and Cervelo most because they seem to have good ~$300 discounts, probably due to either being returned or old stock (Niner even has non-stock 45c tires).

I currently am running a Gravel bike with 32c rubber for winter training and I love it. Examples of endurance bikes: Trek Domane can fit like 35c rubber and same with the Cervelo Caledonia. They are "All-Road" and basically the new school endurance bike.

The Cervelo is simply better spec’d out of the box which from a build perspective makes it a better value. I did not check out the Domane SL6, it is a better specd bike then the SL5 so perhaps it rides differently, it definitely exceeded my budget and of course it’s not available to try out. Although I didn’t intend buy a Cervelo walking into the store, after extensive ride testing and value per dollar, this was indeed the bike to take home.

I say go for the Cervelo Caledonia or the Trek Madone or Emonda. Both have carbon frames, 105, and decent all around spec.
