Chrome Kadet Sling

​. * Chrome Kadet Sling Mini - I quite liked this bag, its my budget pick.

I'm lukewarm on the idea of a sling, but would consider it. On a whim, I picked up a Chrome Kadet at REI yesterday and the size is pretty good but I can't quite get it to sit right. When the strap is situated on my shoulder close to my neck, the horizontal force and overall weight is rather uncomfortable. With the strap further out, on the meat of my shoulder, almost to the point of falling off, it's much more comfortable, but I feel a tension or pull in my oblique/lower back on the other side.

Another spanner in the works, I love my Chrome Industries Kadet sling, which is big enough to fit my Dell XPS 13 inch laptop. The stabiliser strap is perfect for when I'm cycling too. I think it's bigger than the first three on your list, maybe closer to the Code of Bell sling in size.

Chrome kadet bag is my recommendation. Great for lugging around a tablet, paperback, couple tall cans of beer, u lock, and other personal items without being too big. Also can tighten a few straps to make the bag low profile, if that’s what you’re into. I don’t know if this is a common thing with sling bags, but it is very easy to access the contents while still wearing the bag.

Not sure how this fits other sizes and shapes of person, but the Chrome Industries Kadet has quite a bit of strap to adjust and the stability clip helps keep it in place. The aluminum buckle one is a bit lighter than the rest, and it folds down pretty flat, but I don’t necessarily consider it packable. Link: They have a quite a few other sling bags now, too.
