I know you can’t get rid of pores but I’m wondering is there anyway to make them smaller? I use La Roche Posay products. They keep my acne mostly at bay but I feel like my pores are just so large. Part of it is genetic, but just wondering if there’s anything else I can do at home to help. Thanks!

Cheap and Easy Tests

I have mixed feelings about this product. First I will say that I did get a positive (ehem, 14 positives) 8 days before my missed period which was, 12 DPO. Because I went thru IVF I know my dates EXACTLY. I used several to test out the HCG in my system from the trigger shot

 All my friends said wait a few days and test again and the line will be much darker. Yeah, no. This morning I couldn’t even find the line on 2 out of 3 tests. Scared the crap out of me that perhaps I’d had another miscarriage

 When I got my first positive I was both floored and doubtful. It was technically too early. And the line was so light it looked like wishful thinking. I had to twist it and turn turn it and look at it in the light juuuust right to see it

 This morning I couldn’t even find the line on 2 out of 3 tests. Scared the crap out of me that perhaps I’d had another miscarriage. Went and bought another first response double pack. The ones that have a digital as well as a double line

Accurate if you can read it.

  **UPDATE** About 6 months after my initial review, we successfully used these strips and my ovulation tracking data to perfectly time our family planning efforts, and conceived the first month we tried. I continue to use these strips to space out our current child and a potential expansion of our family. This was a much more economical and environmentally-friendly product than some of the other options available.

 Now that we are getting closer to being ready to try to start a family, I’m not sure if I want to switch to a more expensive, more consistent brand, or if I will continue to use these strips and hope the next batch I order is back to that strong, defined line. Now that we are getting closer to being ready to try to start a family, I’m not sure if I want to switch to a more expensive, more consistent brand, or if I will continue to use these strips and hope the next batch I order is back to that strong, defined line. I do like that this brand offers such a large number of strips in a package, and that they’re so cheap any easy to use

After about a year of marriage, my husband and I weren’t sure we were ready for kids, but I was beyond ready to stop using hormonal birth control. I’ve been using these test strips for about a year and a half now to check for my LH surge each month, and the first batch was extremely easy to read, with nice, clear, defined lines that grew more clear over the 3 days before my surge. At the time of my surge, I had perfectly distinct lines to tell me that i was about to ovulate, and to use barrier methods if we were going to be intimate. This batch has been far less distinct, and I haven’t been as confident in my testing, so we just use barrier methods more consistently to prevent pregnancy

Different batches aren’t consistent, but cheap and easy to use

 I got my first BFP at 3dp5dt (Aka 8 dpo) but I could barely see anything.  I have NEVER once in my 3 years of taking these tests seen a false positive or evap line, and trust me, I examine each BFN well past the 5 minute mark.  What these are NOT good for is progressions and easing your anxiety during the early stages of pregnancy.  Both pregnancies, I had progressions lines that were not perfect with these tests

 But if you have a history of miscarriage like I do, do NOT rely on these for perfect progressions and if you do, please use them every other day. I also recommend second morning urine, but that may just be my body’s metabolism.  For reference, my 9dp5dt (marked as “9am” in my photo) beta was 220, and my 11dp5dt (marked as “11 fmu” and “11 smu” in the photo) was 530.

 A) they take forever to get dark and B) the darkness was lighter some mornings than the night before and varied wildly even when I took the tests 20-25 minutes apart (first morning vs second morning urine).  I’m not saying you shouldn’t buy these- they are good and accurate at detecting pregnancy. But if you have a history of miscarriage like I do, do NOT rely on these for perfect progressions and if you do, please use them every other day. I also recommend second morning urine, but that may just be my body’s metabolism

Reliable for detecting pregnancy, but NOT progressions

As someone who is going through IVF, following frozen embryo transfers I get my blood drawn so I can actually see my hcg levels and compare them to these tests. I just want to say that these ARE accurate, however the line does not progress or darken the way you would expect. When my levels were 80, the line was there, but quite faded, at 158 the line was stronger but not solid, and at 400 it was finally nearly solid. I also noticed occasionally I will get a test that is slightly defective and while it still gives me a line, the line is very faded

A Great Way to Track HCG Progression

I gave two stars because these tests are not very sensitive BUT I did not get anything but for sure negatives until today when I got an evap line after 30 minutes. I got a bfp yesterday or FRER and equate( free blue dye from ovulation kit) and a darker bfp today on FRER today. I've seem some people get early bfps on these but some get negatives with strong lines in other brands. I think these are probably hit or miss with sensitivity but they are super cheap so what do you expect?

These were delivered in blatantly labeled “pregnancy test” packaging. I’m all for saving on packaging materials but this was insane! The strips work great & are priced well but holy crap! It’s a shiny reflective bag with large font lettering on it. The back side even has large print infographic instructions for testing with the shipping label slapped on. Embarrassing lack of privacy & could be dangerous for any women trying to be discrete

You get quite a few duds in the mix. I’d suggest taking more than one test at a time if you have a feeling you’re pregnant so you won’t have to wait till the next morning to take another test if the previous one was a dud. Once I became pregnant, I got my first and extremely faint positive 10 dpo. It stayed very faint for about another week when I could finally see a nice pink line show up right away

I found out I was pregnant with my daughter a little over 3 weeks pregnant with these tests. I retested a couple days later to confirm and the line got darker.
