 All the Cobra King F8 clubs come with the Argus Cobra Connect sensors and they're built into the grips, and that allows you to download the free app, pair it with the club, take it out of the course and you'll be able to see how far you're hitting each club and also how accurate you are with each of them, which is a great thing to see that this technology has been built into these clubs and you can get it for free. Now moving on, if you wanted to change the flight a little bit more, there's also, as they had before, a plus version, this is the King F8 Plus driver, and this really is a more compact head, so this is 440 cc's compared to the 460 of the standard model, the lofts and the adjustable hosel are down a degree from the past, instead of 9 to 12, it's 8 to 11, and the weights, instead of being the back and the heel, are actually the back and the front, so again you've got 12 and 2 grams and you can vary them between the two in order to get slightly different flights. I took this on GC2 as well and at 10 degrees with the heavy weight in the back, then you were getting about a 2.7 spin and about a 2 degree higher launch than you did when you had the heavy weight in the front of the club, now when it was in the front you're actually getting a much slightly lower flight as well, so it's really just dependent on what type of flight you want and probably what type of swing speed you are, because I think really the two combined are really what's going to determine what's right for you

What's in your golf bag?

 Now with me today I have the Cobra King F8 irons and there's a little bit of a difference between this and the previous F7 model. Now this is what they call a tech flow design and they tend to have three different styles of head in the F8 set which is down one from the last one. I've got the six iron here and actually it's in the four to seven irons where this particular head style is going to be found and this is a hollow design. This is there to sort of keep the weight low and further back and to launch it a little bit higher and they've got this carbon in the back here which sort of fills the cavity but also is there to modify the sound and feel of the impact

9 to 2.4 millimetres and that is there to allow the ball to move a little bit off the face and also get a little bit more ball speed. It's also a little bit lighter than it was before, it's down to 44 grams which is seven grams lighter than it was before and that weight therefore is saved and moved down lowering the soil as I said earlier just to get that higher launch. The other thing you should notice if you're familiar with the F7 is that the F8 are slightly shallower head from top to bottom and also the hosels are a little bit shorter as well and that again is really to move weight from above the centre of gravity of the club to below it in order to help that centre of gravity get a little bit lower

 So let's see how this one goes, I've just got the six iron here at the moment and when you put it down at address it's got a fairly mid-sized top line, it's probably not as large as maybe Cobra irons are in the past, it certainly looks that way, it probably is actually the same size so let's see how this one goes and it's really a very solid sound indeed and certainly the speed from this is really good, I had this on a GC2 earlier with the previous F7 iron, now my swing speed was about 88 miles an hour, I was actually seeing an increase in launch about one and a half degrees with the F8 and that was combined with spin going down 700 rpm and that was giving a slightly higher flight, it was actually three yards higher which is quite significant for this and that in turn was all generating an extra six yards. What you've also got in the butt of the club, in the butt of the grip sorry, is this Arcos centre which is their Cobra Connect and they had this in their drivers last time round but now you're getting them in every grip in the set of irons and they will also give you additional sensors to put into your other clubs whether they're Cobra or not and what you do with that is download the free Cobra Connect app to your smartphone, pair the clubs up and then you'll be able to see how far and how accurately you're hitting all your clubs on the course and over time that's going to build up into a good database of how far you hit the clubs, if you miss the fairway or miss the green, which side you're missing on and that should hopefully help you practice a little bit more so it is a good service and of course it's free. Now that is what they call the variable length irons, they've also got a one length version of the F8 irons as well, now in the past they did this last year and this is where the whole set is the same length as the 7 iron, so the theory that was really taken off the back of Bryson DeChamber, this is how he plays golf and I've got here as a 6 iron, it doesn't feel massively different because honestly it's just about the same length as it might normally be but it is a little bit shorter, the heads are pretty much the same but what they've done this time around compared to the previous one length is make the soles a little bit wider in the 4, 5 and 6 iron and that is there really to allow the ball to fly a little bit higher and that is because their research over the first year of these irons is that people needed it to go a little bit higher and to that end they've also changed the lie of the clubs, so the longer irons are actually one degree up, then the 5 and the 4 and then the 6 is half a degree up and then the lower clubs they're all the standard way down to the pitching wedge which is half a degree down and then your gap and lob wedges are actually a full degree down and that is there just to sort of change the flight on this and we'll come onto the short irons later on, so let's see how this one goes. I really quite like this approach, I think if you're a player just coming into the game having to take a one length approach where all you've got to worry about is one length of club, one posture, one ball position should make the game pretty easy

Got the 5-pw Cobra F8 one lengths a couple of years ago. I like them but don’t love them. Full swings with the pw and gw are okay but chipping around the green with these wedges is weird because they’re so long.

I am considering on making the swap to single length irons and wedges. Any players on here that made the switch succesfully? Also curious about people that made the switch, but swapped back to regular clubs...

 Now I have got this set with a 12 gram weight at the back of the head here. So this is promoting a slightly higher launch, slightly higher spin. But I want to maybe give you guys, you know, it's not so much for me here. It's more for you guys out there, which I'm guessing if you're into this sort of model, you're probably going to have it in that setting, which is its most forgiving, most sort of easier option in a way or setting for you guys to hit

One-length irons

Whats in my bag. What’s your go to club?

Curious if anybody has any thoughts on favorites that I should be on the look out for demoing out of the used bags.

I have had a Burner 2.0 for a while but I've never been crazy about it.  Would love to stay in the TM family but of course that's not a must.

I see alot of complaining on here about people either hitting it abnormally long or people getting laughed at for hitting it short. Alot of people have stronger lofted clubs so I'm curious, Whats your 7 iron carry and the loft of the club?

I hit my 7iron around 165-170 carry with my 30\* ping g425, the pro said hitting it further is not much use if the shot can't be controlled.
