Hello! I'm going camping at Yellowstone for the 4th of July weekend and am in need of a cooler. Ive never purchased one and was looking for one that will be budget-friendly but also long lasting. I definitely can't afford a yeti, but was wondering what your opinions are on the Goplus brand. Other threads have recommended RTIIC or pelican, but what are your favorite coolers/brands?

 although we could get more food into it which was a plus it didn't cut it for keeping cool the entire 5 day trip.  We followed instructions and put ice into the cooler a day ahead so it would be cool when the fresh ice was put in, etc.  This cooler would need to have more than a block of ice and a bag of ice to last 5 days, which would leave less space for food.

We returned the cooler and are just sticking with the smaller coleman cooler that has much thicker insulation and takes less ice and keeps things cool as advertised.  

A little disappointed

 I really don't want to return home after camping and have to wet vac out my van! So I'm planning on replacing with a screw on type. It would have been awesome if Coleman had equipped it with one that was a standard hose bib - are you listening Coleman? Also I purchased a stainless steel lid strap by Coleman - I was really surprised this was not standard also. I could see the hinges getting broken the first time out.

 I looked at alot of coolers and was just not going to blow the bucks on any of those roto-molded - too heavy and overbuilt for my needs and use. We do Boy Scout camping (that's why I wanted light weight) and we avoid bears! MY BEEFS with this cooler would be the drain plug - it just snaps closed and does impart confidence. This would be a Top Notch Cooler if....

Its big and it has problems.

Why does rain get in my cooler?

Not what we hoped for...

The top did not fit tight. It has internal latch and it was a loose fit, which would lead one to believe that it would not hold cold temperature very long, even though it has a 5 hour cold rating. We took it back to Walmart.
