I mean look at that powder corrosion up in there That's just Not sure And it's already starting on this side you can see it So, yeah Definitely don't use conduct or not on the look at the Look at the black marks it left on the CPU Stuff still that's still violation Oh Well, the thermal grizzly test definitely turned out interesting I definitely wouldn't use it with aluminum heat sinks So if you're thinking about that, definitely don't do it. I was not expecting it to Affect the aluminum that quickly or maybe even not that severe I wasn't sure what really to expect I was part of this whole test anyways However that aside I like to talk about the thermal grizzly I've had it now my system here for a couple of months and I'm very happy with it before I was using this stuff called IC diamond 24 karat supposed to be really good stuff and it it was compared to just regular thermal paste Problem I was having is I was able to achieve a 4

 I went to the dungeon of doom and I found us an old-school Pentium Processor here aluminum heat sink to go with it. So we're going to do some Frankenstein Mask here. We'll use the power supply everything from these guts here. We'll power this thing up we'll get some baseline numbers off of regular thermal paste and Then we'll go into using some thermal grizzly See the difference see just what happens All right, let's do it All Right now that she's all together ready to see what's gonna happen Justin, yeah Yeah Let's get this pin in here Alright And the Frankenstein comes along Update Running for a couple hours And No changes Guess we're gonna see What happens Uh-huh doing the thermal grizzly experiment Come over in there stuff everywhere in the computer shut down What is this thing Where'd that come from dude There's this stuff everywhere Justin and then this is just laying up here

 I just wasn't able to wick away the heat fast enough So I started Researching to see what I could come up with and that's when I found the thermal grizzly liquid metal thermal paste I thought I'd give it a shot and It does very well. I was able to apply that thermal grizzly and Be able to do my 4.2 overclock with benchmarking and still be 5 C under my maximum TJ max So I was pretty impressed with that. I got better benchmarks out of it And so I did the video cards after that video cards even ran a lot cooler and we've been pretty happy with the whole thing So I definitely recommend using the thermal grizzly up in a week below Some good stuff here

You have to be reaaaaaally sure you need this product if you want to buy it. If you don't apply it correctly, your temps will be terrible.  Now, after applying the Conductonaut, my temps are 42C CPU and 53C CPU Package. That's an 11 degree difference, in the wrong direction. Oof. In-fact, I apparently screwed this up so badly that Prime95 will run for about 1 second before the computer restarts due to thermal protection

Spreading it is like pushing around blobs of T-1000

~~Get Thermal grizzly conductonaut (excuse the spelling). The others suffer from "leaking out" when used for direct die cooling such as in laptops.~~.

Need help choosing a thermal paste for my laptop.

 Neither is advised. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE ON AIO CPU COOLERS AND HIGHLY UNADVISED.  Next, I tried it on my GPU (Vega 65 Strix) to lower temps before selling it. Thought it'd be a nice little gift to the next owner after replacing the thermal pads for Grizzly to keep the HBM temps lower

 First, I tried it as thermal paste for my CPU. The VAST MAJORITY of applications I just do not see this working. It doesn't fill the gap completely between the CPU and the cold plate on the cooler. The only way to get this to work is to use shorter standoffs or way over tighten until it sits flush

I tried this in two separate applications and neither worked even after following a guide and carefully spreading it with a qtip. I'll also say that if you didn't get it right the first time, you're screwed. On a related note, cleaning this stuff off is a nightmare.  Applications: Let's jump on that first point

Flat out doesn't work for many configurations.

 Much more efficient thermal transfer into the heat pipe, and the CPUs seem to cool quite well with just convection cooling. My fans only ramp up under heavy loads, and ramp down much more quickly since the CPU isn't heatsoaking.

Best Laptop thermal paste

 I say thermal paste but look up the best thermal paste and apply that especially if you're using a stock cooler i think it's currently Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Thermal Paste. Anyway if you use copper you'll be fine expect some tarnish and corrosion otherwise nickel is the way to go.

 This gets you a decent performance improvement in terms of thermal. Better than most dell and hp stock thermal paste but Thermal paste will always be better unless you're applying to the cpu DIE itself underneath the IHS. I say thermal paste but look up the best thermal paste and apply that especially if you're using a stock cooler i think it's currently Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Thermal Paste. Anyway if you use copper you'll be fine expect some tarnish and corrosion otherwise nickel is the way to go

I've been looking at MX4 and MX5, but I'm not sure how well they perform on heavy RTX and 8 Core Ryzen PCs.

Also, I don't need to apply the paste to anything else right?
