 It's supposed to look like that That's probably just you know, you know how they fit it well Here are the parts that have broken off and these are actually magnetic bits. See they don't fall out and This is a whole magnetic ring. That's part of this sleeve that drives this this is what you know It causes this fan to spin So I'm imagining that could have thrown the fan off I mean even it wasn't super loud all the time occasionally was so I'm sure the bearings that are in here are trash anyway, and That's all shmood up but Yeah, this thing Was trash and I didn't take it apart correctly I did just snap it off because I wanted to see what was in here because I could hear something rattling when I shook it And I'm thinking it's these chunks being chased around in here because and those just come right out and they look like they're cracked so again another negative issue for the sleeve types that use these magnets that are real cheap and Corsair build quality was obviously not the highest on this day Whoever assembled this one Kind of rushed it and ended up breaking off part. So Or I mean this could this might not even be Corsair

 It's Only the bottom tier power supplies those things that are in tier 5 or 6 or untiered That could potentially be an issue which can easily be found out by looking at reviews and seeing what people are saying about these products Alright guys, I am done with Corsair and that may I never have another bottom tier Corsair to ever deal with Am I in Breno 5? Corsair CX450 Fan Failure

I purchased this on July 7th of 2015 and now almost exactly 5 years later I'm posting a review because its been the cause of many issues this whole time. Within the first weeks I had emailed and opened a ticket with corsair support about the excessive coil whine, at the time I had a 980 and a 4790k. Of course when I overclocked them both it only got worse and it couldn't handle voltage increases to the board or gpu. I noticed it would whine constantly and start making crackling noises and corsair support had me record the issue and said it was normal as coil whine is based on the environment the PSU works in

 Constant coil whine which gets worse as you overclock or load up your rig.  Save your money and potentially save your rig. Look elsewhere for a better PSU.

 If this had a 20% loss in performance it wouldn't be able to keep up with a modern 2080ti and ryzen cpu or motherboard.  All in all avoid this power supply like the plague, you truly get what you pay for. I've order an EVGA 1000 watt platinum P2+ psu and I'm sure just by the reviews alone it will be a better experience. To sum up these are the main reasons not to purchase this and save your money for a quality power supply maybe somewhere else or high tier from corsair:  1

 But with the PSU there was nothing but issues. 2. The psu clearly doesnt output its rated wattage. The gpu branching 8 pin pci cable it provides clearly cannot support a 980 or a 2080ti later on for that matter

5 year Review, Save your money looks elsewhere and don't skimp on a PSU

 I'll just put my phone which I'm using to record the audio on top of the computer. That's right, don't hear anything. I hope that it doesn't have a faulty fan, but as I use the computer I'll figure that out, and of course if it does have a faulty fan, well I guess we're going to be doing a warranty replacement now aren't we? I don't really want a power supply that doesn't have a functional fan and then bakes the hardware inside and blows everything up. That wouldn't be very fun

 All the power is hooked up. Okay now with the computer plugged in, nothing has exploded yet, so let's press the power button, nothing, so got to flip the switch I presume, ah we got power, excellent, I don't really hear anything. Now of course the furnace is going with the air conditioner, so of course I can't really hear anything. The power supply that I had in it was pretty quiet, and this one seems to be even quieter still

I purchased this PSU partly because it fit my needs and got really good reviews, and partly because the description kept saying "quiet". This PSU is NOT quiet. I could hear it 25ft down my hallway constantly even though the system was idling. I worked with the manufacturer's tech support, and it was determined my unit was not abnormally loud

 Nice job, Corsair, another 10 out of 10 for you. I mean, like, this power supply really is bar none. If you're looking for a power supply that's great on a budget, this is the one to get. 450 watts is perfect if you're building a smaller system

 This is for your big, beefy video cards, and we get two 8 pins that break off to 6 pins as well. And then, over here, we get, type 4, we get peripherals. This is for fan hub, or old school stuff, so you got like these molex connectors, that way if you have a couple fans or, you know, various other things that do take that legacy molex connector, you have that available. Now, this is basically more legacy connectors stuff

 DC input, okay, is on the 3.3 volt rail, is 20 amps, okay, 5 volt rail, we're looking at another 20 amps. It continues to 110 watts, and then on the 12 volt rail, we have 37.4 amps, 448 watts, okay? And then, let's see, basically, and then minus 12 volt rail, 0
