 This was an issue even when it was new, but it hasn't gotten any worse. The scroll wheel still feels solid forward and backward, but I do feel as if it has started to slip if I were to try to push it from side to side. This doesn't affect the scroll wheel or anything or cause any binding, just something that I wanted you to be aware of. This is probably the most important part of this long term review

 I tend to keep my RGB lights on full brightness, which means charging more frequently, which in turns means more battery cycles. The battery still holds a charge just like it did from day one, I'm still getting around 45 hours on a single charge while on the wireless, and even a bit longer while on Bluetooth. All three connections still work very well without any disruptions, unless I have something metal or heavy sitting in between the wireless receiver and the mouse. The tracking is still on point, I do tend to go into my iCUE software and tune the mouse every so often to make sure things track the best they can

 So with that being said, let's go ahead and just jump right in. Let's start with the exterior. It's hard to believe that this mouse is actually almost two years old, not a single crack or break in the plastic. The palm and side grips are completely intact aside from some light wearing spots, and the original feet are on the bottom, have signs of use, but no peeling or flaking whatsoever

I don't really have anything terribly negative to say about the mouse other than it was way too big for my hands. I didn't really game with it that much because the shape of this thing did not agree with me. I am 6 ft tall and would say I have pretty average size hands and feet and this mouse was just not the way. I used it for about an hour and packed it back up and took it to my local UPS store

 The Dark Core can be connecting using one of three different connection types, Corsair's slipstream 2.4 gigahertz wireless technology, a Bluetooth connection or directly connected with a USB cable. Simply slide the switch on the underside of the mouse to the desired connection or leave in the middle for USB. The battery life is actually quite good given the caliber of the hardware, playing Call of Duty at around 1600 or so DPI, on a full charge I was able to get around 14 hours between charges with all lighting zones on and around 30 hours with all lighting zones off

 Nothing else matters if a quote unquote good mouse isn't a comfortable mouse for the user. The Dark Core weighs in right around 127 grams with no additional weights to add. The back and thumb rest have a nice rubberized anti-slip material and it does come complete with two side grips, one flush and one that offers a pinky finger rest. Under the right side panel, you will also find the USB storage

However, I did notice a significant drop in responsiveness while on Bluetooth, but there was virtually no difference between USB and Corsair's slipstream wireless

 Linked lightning sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Biggest issue for me is the slipstream. It is presented as much better than BT and that for once, a competitive wireless gaming mouse but that's not true. It lags in random places
