But the new Hydro Series H100i adds to their product name Platinum, which as with power supplies suggests an air of supremacy

 So for as long as I can remember, Corsair have been a staple in the AIO liquid cooling market, working to produce a range of flexible options. For me, Corsair were a go-to when deciding upon my first sealed AIO liquid cooler with the H55, back in the time where some CPUs were even packaged with liquid coolers. AMD, I'm looking at you. But a lot has changed with the move not only to larger AIO liquid coolers, 280 and 360mm, but also with the consideration for aesthetics

 Zsonic, the heart of your system. Hi guys, it's Silas from KitGuru and today we'll be taking a look at the Corsair Hydro Series H100i RGB Platinum 240mm Liquid CPU Cooler. So for as long as I can remember, Corsair have been a staple in the AIO liquid cooling market, working to produce a range of flexible options. For me, Corsair were a go-to when deciding upon my first sealed AIO liquid cooler with the H55, back in the time where some CPUs were even packaged with liquid coolers

 So my testing was based heavily on performance and how well it handled the temperature range we applied to our 7700k. It managed this with such a degree I thought something was wrong with our test bench but further testing and retesting proved that the H100i really is an exceptional cooler. Running back to installation the instructions and the pre-preparedness of everything for the cooler or the mounting hardware was great and it really sped the process up. There is of course a little bit more work if you're installing on the AMD platform but this is realistically only about 30 seconds or so of work to get everything set up and then you're good to go

Unless you are doing some serious overclocking, I don't think most normal users need AIO at all for daily driving.

I'm never going back to AIO

Still using this and it does seem to keep my 280W threadripper at reasonable temps unless running maximum 64 thread Prime 95.  I knocked off two stars for two problems:  -1 star because the fans' RGB failed within a day, with one showing no lights and the other with only one green RGB lit. Configuration software didnt manage to revive them. I prefer my lighting subtle and use LED bars on the case, so I didn't dock more stars, but shows that the build quality may not be the best

The micro USB cable that plugs into the waterblock housing to control the RGB is a right angled plug that extends a full 3/4 of an inch (~20mm) from the left side of the housing and the coolant pipes extend almost as far out on the right, and even if you didnt care that the light up logo would be on its side, the mounting hardware doesnt allow you to turn it 90 degrees to allow for more clearance

  Your motherboard may be different, but with my Gigabyte TRX40 Aorus Master, the plug and pipes are jammed right up against the memory, in the plug's case, actually pushing the SIMM slightly outwards towards its neighbor. I have been looking for a micro USB cable with a lower profile, but I will have to mess with adapters as none seem to offer micro USB to USB2.0 motherboard headers.  This is just bad design

Install and Fan RGB are both problems.

 Moving back to the cooler for now though and you'll notice it doesn't stray too far design-wise from what we've seen from Corsair before, but they add RGB and addressable RGB at that. The CPU water block for example has got 16, you have me right, 16 individually programmable RGB LEDs which is phenomenal and I'll cover the software side in more detail later on. The radiator design is also nice with a non-light-up but sleek metallic Corsair logo on either side. Finally, Corsair include two of their addressable RGB HD120 fans which are super duper quiet, they rate them around 37 decibels and spin up to 2400 RPM

 The completely tool-less process is simple and easy to follow with fantastic clear instructions. It's probably the easiest all-in-one liquid cooler I have ever installed so massive props to Corsair here. Another area in which Corsair deserve massive props is in their proprietary software suite which I'll cover more in a moment's time. First though you're all probably chomping at the bit to find out just how well this AIO cooler performs so let's look at some benchmark figures and then we'll jump back to the software side

I use my standard test setup of an AMD Ryzen 7 2700 in a fairly well ventilated Corsair H500 case. Now I appreciate this cooler is rated for much higher wattage TDP CPUs and I'll be pairing it with a Core i9 in a build soon so get subscribed for that one

Back to the Ryzen 7 chip though and temperatures topped out at 41 degrees Celsius which is notably 5 degrees Celsius cooler than the closest Cooler Master counterpart. Motherboard:  ASUS TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS D4 

AIO:  Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 A-RGB

GPU:  ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 Ti TUF Gaming OC 8GB 

PSU: Cooler Master V850 V2 Gold PSU 850W

Case: Phanteks 500A RBG (3 fans at the front, one extra installed at the back)

Sensor software: CPUID HWMonitor

I build this computer this week, and the situation is that I feel like my processor is overheating too easily. During BIOS, it hovers around 40℃. During regular load (Firefox + Twitch, 5-6% CPU usage), it goes up to 50-60℃. Now, when I play Battlefield 2042 (max settings), it easily maxes at 100℃ and is between 90-100℃ without fail.  The GPU doesn't even get close to 60℃. After researching a bit trying to find an answer myself, it seems that people get around 85℃ while running a very demanding benchmarking program like Cinebench, which makes me believe that something is awfully wrong with my system. The AIO is by default set to max RPM by the BIOS. I did not do any changes to my BIOS settings other than enabling XMP 1. I attached an imagine of the monitoring software post closing Battlefield in hope that the keener minds here can discover something that I can't see, as I am no expert in voltages and the such. What should I do?

[AIO] Corsair iCUE REDESIGN H150i Elite Capellix Liquid CPU Cooler BLACK 360mm - $189.99 ($199.99 - $10)

 Additionally while the ML120 RGB Pros are some of the best RGB fans they are an absolute rats nest to cable manage. Overall I have this hooked to a Ryzen 9 3950X and the temps are really good in a NCase M1 13L case

 Noise is somewhat subjective but hands down the loudest part is the pump which in a dead silent roam you can here but for many this will not be bothersome. My biggest issue with the unit is that the Corsair iCue software is pure garbage, it constantly would disconnect and reconnect via the USB header ramping up the fans up and down. When the software does work it is quite brilliant and the RGB effects are beautiful. Not wanting to deal with this I just unplugged the USB header and changed the fans to some Noctuas

Inside the case I would like to build a MSI MPG b550 gaming edge mainboard with 2 Ram sticks corsair vegnance pro. For this I would like to install an AIO water cooler on the top but I do not know which size of the radiator i should get.
Im afraid to buy a wrong AIO water cooler because i heard that the 4000x does not have so much space inside.
