In the top right corner, there are dedicated media keys and a volume wheel, so you can control all of your media directly from the keyboard. On the left side, there's a column of dedicated macro keys for easy access and a unique iCUE wheel that allows you to make on-the-fly adjustments. If that weren't enough, this keyboard has 44 independent RGB zones that are all customizable using the companion software. Also, its latency is exceptionally low, and the maximum 8000Hz polling rate adds to the extremely responsive feel of the keyboard.

The Corsair K100 RGB packs more features than most need, including some you&rsquo;ve probably never even fathomed a keyboard could have. There&rsquo;s an SoC with multi-threading, a 4,000 Hz polling rate (instead of the usual 1,000 Hz), the debut of Corsair&rsquo;s homegrown optical-mechanical switches, and an RGB-clad media wheel that&rsquo;s as fun to use as it is to look at.
The wheel was extra helpful for productivity tasks, such as zooming in and out of Photoshop. It proved less useful for gaming, however, as did some of the other features that make this keyboard so expensive. 
The K100 RGB still makes for one of the best gaming keyboards. We could actually tell the difference offered by the optical mechanical switches&rsquo; shorter travel and actuation point. Of course, if you&rsquo;re not into the optical mechanical trend, you can also get this board with Cherry&rsquo;s Speed Silver switches. 
If you&rsquo;re looking for a splurge solely for gaming, the Corsair K95 Platinum XT is a better option. It's also expensive, but it offers more gaming-obvious luxuries &mdash; such as a macro key bank and support for the Elgato Stream Deck.

 Glide there is a redesigned status center with indicators that light up to show you when caps, lock, num, lock and other keys are currently enabled, and it all looks very sleek at the top of the keyboard. One of my favorite things about the k100 is the premium wrist pad that it comes with to quote the great lebowski. They just tied the room together, man or, in this case the keyboard - i'm not exaggerating when i say it's better than any that i've used before on corsair keyboards, and it's certainly better than any third party wrist pads that you might buy. It feels very plush and durable, plus the material pairs well with the texture of the pad

 Switching since those double shot, keycaps come standard. That means that the texture on the individual keys are resistant to shine over time and will outlast their abs counterparts. That means the legends on the keys themselves will never fade or wear off, since they are two individual layers of pbt plastic molded. Together, the six macro keys continue to come standard and that's nice

 They just tied the room together, man or, in this case the keyboard - i'm not exaggerating when i say it's better than any that i've used before on corsair keyboards, and it's certainly better than any third party wrist pads that you might buy. It feels very plush and durable, plus the material pairs well with the texture of the pad. I can't help but think that this wrist pad will last a long time before finally wearing out corsair has kept their infamous x, cable routing on the bottom of the keyboard. I should mention that the wrist pad will kind of get in the way of your headset cable, which i found odd, because the k95 has a dedicated slot on the wrist pad for cable routing

 If you're anything like me, then you're more than willing to spend a little extra for something that is not only well crafted, but has some good engineering behind it and useful features such as that iq wheel. I use a wacom tablet and i'm right-handed, so i use my left hand to control the wheel to easily scrub through my timelines in premiere pro or maybe zoom in on a photo i'm working on in photoshop. This is the first gaming keyboard from corsair to not only rock the new opex optical mechanical linear switches, which use infrared light to register a key press instead of physical components. But it's also the first to offer 4 000 hertz hyper pulling in 4 000 hertz key scanning, which is just okay

 I currently am testing a k100 from corsair, overall is a very neat keyboard, super fast, still adjusting to the optical switches, but overall is very good. Has dedicated media buttons, pbt keycaps, wrist wrest (also extended due to macro keys so for my large hands it is very comfortable. Though the wire just bugs me out a bit. It is a big nuisance as it is very tough and simply bends into one shape and stays that way

Corsair K100 RGB Gaming Keyboard Review

 I've used better-feeling low-profile keyboards from Logitech at a third of the price.

 Out of the box the quality felt a little sub-par. The casing feels great but I just couldn't like the feel of the keys. The keycaps feel a bit cheap and the tactility of the bump is too much IMO. Anyone who appreciates a low-profile keyboard is probably coming from typing on a laptop, and this felt far too "heavy" to be emulating a laptop keyboard experience

 Incredibly annoying for something as repetitive as typing (and the spacebar, at that). All in all, really can't recommend this product at this price point. I've used better-feeling low-profile keyboards from Logitech at a third of the price.

BIg Issue With Wrist Rest!

- Keyboard itself is entirely black. Style would greatly benefit to have a little white rim all around, similar to the Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750.

 This may be good for games where timing is everything but not so much for software development. This is probably by design but it would be nice if this was configurable.

- the predefined quick lighting zones in the iCue software are lacking. You have to create them (e.g, "Function keys", "Numeric keypad", etc.

This is because the iCUE software is using different profiles if the keyboard is connected wirelessly or with the USB cable, but you cannot copy the wired profiles onto the wireless profiles. You have to recreate them one by one. Not a bug, but a major usability issue especially because the "Lighting library" is also not sharable between the wired profiles and the wireless profiles!

Good but not perfect

 The price is extremely high. To justify the price tag, you should know what you want out of this keyboard vs the many other cheaper and comparable alternatives on the market. I wouldn't recommend peripherals at this price range because it can be better budgeted toward improving your PC instead but if you're in the market for this kind of luxury then it's pretty nice.

 The settings can also be saved on hardware playback when CUE is closed which is nice. 7. This keyboard is heavy. Wire is chunky and not detachable
