 This is a big one. Seems like an afterthought in the design. Its one of the narrowest, flimsiest hip belts I've ever seen on a backpack (well, except for the 28L version which is more like a seatbelt). There is one zippered pocket that's so small you might be able to squeeze in a stick of gum (not exaggerating)

 Maybe the hip belt issue isn't as problematic for shorter torsoed individuals (I'm 6'11" and lanky). In any case, I'll probably be returning this for a bag that distributes weight to the hips better, like the Eagle Creek Global Companion.

. -Zippers are quite robust and very theft-proof. -Stowable straps. This is potentially a game changer if you want to pass-off your 35L backpack as a personal item at the airport

Nice bag, but mostly useless hip belt

 It's a side opening zipper on the outside of the bag and it's large enough to hold a 15-inch laptop and a 10-inch tablet. The compartment doesn't have a false bottom, but there's a decent ridge of padding that runs along the top and the bottom of the pocket, as well as a thick back padding that provide decent protection. However, there's basically no padding on the sides of the compartment, so you need to be really careful with your bag when you're carrying your laptop. There's one issue with a laptop compartment that I think makes it difficult to use when you have the backpack straps out

 Now, when you try to fit your laptop in here, you have to almost cram it in and it's really tight and you can barely close this zipper. In summary, my favorite things about the Cotopaxi: Alfa 35 or the bomb-proof materials. This is just a really nice, well-made bag using great materials and hardware with great internal organization. My least favorite thing about the Alfa is the backpack system

 All three virgins have a large main compartment and then the other side is going to either have two or three mesh divider pockets. The 35 litre version that I have here has three pockets. On this side, two small top pockets, and then this larger mesh zipper that also gives you access to the large space behind the top pockets. The main compartment is going to be where you store a majority of your clothes

 The bag is really sturdy and robust, but it is a little bit heavy coming in at almost three and a half pounds. The zippers and the hardware used on this pack are also awesome. They use huge number 10 YKK zippers on the external pocket and smaller number five YKK on the internal pockets. Instead of locks, they use a somewhat minimalistic security system with these fabric loops that keep the zippers from being easily opened

Just got this (opened the Amazon box not even 2 hours ago) and it was a pain in the butt to unzip, packed it up with everything for a trip tomorrow, found another shirt I want to put in it and once again having the hardest time unzipping it. Is it going to be like this every time Cotopaxi? Is opening it going to suck each & every time? I need it for this trip but a little worried based off this first impression. You’d think for $200 I’d be able to easily unzip the thing

Zipper is rather frustrating

 You might not think it by looking at it, but I got all of my clothes and shoes for an entire two-month road trip, plus a few items I picked up along the way. Packed inside this thing. you've got the main pocket here, some accessory pockets up at the top, another very spacious pocket for shoes, dirty clothes or whatever right here, and then a big front top pocket that fit a pair of sneakers, sneakers. And since we mentioned how many six packs and succulents you could fit in the last coat of Paxi bag we reviewed, I guess we have to make that a thing now

 A heavy duty handle is attached to every side. Uh, that's four handles guys, so you can pick it up, carry it around, and toss the bag however you need. It also has stowable backpack straps with a stowable hip belt that lets you pack it around comfortably, or you can hide them away if you'll be carrying it by hand. Another thing to mention, the 35 liter Alpha is also carry-on friendly, not personal item friendly

So don't try to carry it on for free on the cheapo airlines like Spirit and Frontier because they're gonna make you shove it in their little sizer and it's not gonna fit. But on most other airlines, this totally counts as a carry-on which you don't normally have to pay for, so that's a plus

 After Our tests. We feel like it fits the travel role pretty well. With It's carry-on compliance, refined design, and ample space. The Allpa is a great choice

 So All the materials they've used on this pack are of pretty high quality,, but that does come at a weight expense. So We're looking at three pounds and seven ounces just for the Allpa itself when it's empty. The pack comes in at 20 by 12 by 8 inches, which is going to be compatible with most airlines as far as carry-on specifications goes.

 I don't like the 50/50 suitcase style packs (didn't know that until I used them awhile). Not enough dedicated zippered pockets. Headphones, camera, passport wallet, keys, pen, journal, earplugs, eyemask, waterbottle, snacks, kindle, etc. all had mostly separate places in my previous pack and I was better organized

 I have the 35L and the 45L packs, but wish I wouldn't have spent the money. Online shopping and you don't know until you try I guess. I have an ipad and a 13"laptop, but the specialized laptop sleeve is too short to fit them. The rubberized outer material will "stick" to the overhead bin plastic and make it harder to shove in there
