 You'd be mistaken though for thinking that these are aluminum panels, as they do have that brushed texture, but surprisingly they are just plastic, and of course they don't actually feel premium at all, since they barely weigh a thing and are a little bit flimsy as well. Many would argue though that once you've actually built inside the case, it doesn't really matter. The PCB for the front I.O

 And for optimal fan positioning, I found that with my particular setup that running both bottom and top fans as intake fans was the best approach, and we're getting some really solid temperatures here. At idle we're not seeing much difference at all compared to the NCase M1, although the CPU temps on the QBX are a little bit cooler here, but once we bump it up to full CPU load, the QBX does take the lead, and this does make sense since we are getting an extra 2 fans positioned right next to the heatsink, providing some extra cooling. GPU temps are pretty similar between the two cases, although I think the bottom intake fans on the NCase M1 may be a little bit more effective since they have a little bit more room to breathe compared to the Cougar QBX. Also if you want to talk about optimizing acoustic performance, if you're running a similar setup to me then I'd recommend getting rid of this bottom intake fan that is blowing directly onto the graphics card shroud, and also the top intake fan that is blowing directly onto the power supply

 Just some subtle Cougar branding at the front, and even if this is a little too much for you, you can always remove it, seeing as it is just a sticker. And here we have some solid cooling options as well, with support for up to a 240mm radiator, with a single 120mm fan on the motherboard side. But if you prefer air cooling, the QBX can accommodate a cooler height of up to 135mm, as long as you don't have a fan installed on the side cage. The official spec sheet states a maximum cooler height of 105mm, but this Cryorig M9i with a height of 125mm was no problem at all

 And lastly for fan support, in addition to the included 90mm fan at the rear and the tiny 80mm fan slot that you can accommodate at the front, you can fit up to 5 120mm fans here which is pretty insane. 2 at the bottom, 1 on the side cage, and another 2 on the top. And now let's talk about the system temperatures and what I would recommend in terms of fan positioning. So the system here is a d-lidded 7700K overclocked to 4

 Hey everybody, today I want to take a look at a case from Cougar. This is the QBX. It's a mini ITX case You may or may not have seen this case before because it happens to be about six years old as best I can tell it was released in March ish 2015 if it's a case you're interested stick around in this video I'm gonna do just kind of a high-level introduction to it We'll break it open take a quick look at it do a teardown look at its main features and then maybe in a second video I'll do a build in it and see what we can get out of it So anyways stick around let's get to it. All right

 Let's get those out All right, so once those screws are out, this really kind of just falls apart There's the mounts to mount another two and a half inch SSD if you flip it around that's kind of the mount for the slim Optical disk drive so if you're going to use the DVD drive it only supports the slot loading slim optical disk drive Which means doesn't have room for a tray It'll just be one that you have to just insert the CD this rubber gasket if you look at the top here It's just pre-installed right here, so but it just kind of peels out of there Then you get the slot right there if you're going to put your discs in so to get the top cover off There's two screws back here as mentioned And you'll want to get this off to get your power supply and everything installed It just kind of slides back and off now there is room here as well for two more 120 millimeter fans. I didn't mention it yet, but there there is a fan mount right here now This is an 80 millimeter fan, and it does have does come with the filter material to put that in here as you look at the top Here is that power supply cable here reports it supports a PS ATX style power supply, but there's anyways that is Where the power supply mounts motherboard obviously is going to go right here A couple fans down on the bottom. There's also another SSD mounting bracket right back here, so it looks like to me you get a total of four possibilities for SSDs this front panel Does come off in order to install the front fan? I did do a test run of removing that and there's a couple little teeny clips at the top They're really really kind of delicate Broke a couple of them anyway. It's not a big deal

Cougar QBX 2021 PC Mini ITX PC CASE Overview

I had the case lying around and accidentally bought a small PSU and now here I am with a 3080, a 3950x, 64GB of 3600MHz memory, 240mm AiO and 5 fans in total in the Cougar QBX. I call it the smol Boi

5" (2 in the bracket and 1 behind the odd drive), the other one is a bit more tricky due t o cable management but still ok, you can add easily a 3.5" drive, so you are covered for drives (plus M2 on your board maybe!), in term of heat, I have a full graphic card shapphire rx580 and an i7-9700k processor, I have switch the original 92mm fan from the case with a noctua, gives me PWM and silence, you can fit a cpu cooler up to 145, and so giving up the side fan, I have a 125mm cpu cooler so I could technically fit a slim fan on the side, so far I didn't add any other fan, even with overclock the temps are ok, ~35 idling and ~70 full load. (you can easily add 2 120mm slim at the bottom, 1 120mm at the top, one 80mm in the front). Probably the best case if you are in need for good ventilation

You can sure pack a lot of things in that small case!

O. is kind of hidden on the right side with power button, USB and audio and being somewhat crammed in there in between this frame, I was surprised to not have any issues with thicker USB devices, they just don't look that great sticking out from the side. But regardless of the plastic exterior and the thin wavy metal panels, the QBX looks premium which is a nice balance at such a low price. I also appreciate the tech's branding on the front panel instead of having their full logo displayed there

 So starting with the size, it's not the most compact ITX case out there, just be aware of that, plus it's not that thin either, it is quite long because of excellent GPU support and in comparison to the Define Mini C which is a micro ATX enclosure and the S340 Elite, you're actually looking at a capable mini case. The exterior top and front panels look much better than they feel, they are plastic with this aluminum brush texture and nice dark grey color to create a little bit of separation from the black steel frame. The side panels are perforated but without any dust filtration, this might be on purpose to eliminate resistance for passive airflow, at least the mesh here will stop some of the dust and the only filter is found on the bottom that slides out from the back. I think the most disappointing was the corsair crystal 280x; for a mini-itx system it would probably be fine, but for micro-atx (as it's advertised for) it's pretty cramped and the glass panels impact temperatures more than I was willing to accept. To the cases credit it was pretty though.

What's the most disappointing component you've bought? Why?

  2: Do not try to occupy every fan spot in this case. When using 25mm fans on the bottom they are extremely close to ~1-2 mm from the graphics card, and can add more noise than expected. When mounting a fan above the motherboard, I would highly recommend a fan with rubber inserts in the corners (ie Noctua/Corsair non LED AF series AF or SP/Fractal Design Venturi) Reason being, is that the entire top can vibrate, and give off a buzz sound. There's not enough room above the power supply exhaust for even a 15mm fan as that's where the psu pass plugs in

 I'm using a Corsair H105 (38mm thick radiator) with 2 fans on it. So a 240mm radiator that is 27mm thick, and flexible tubing should be able to easily fit a 2nd fan with an SFX PSU.  2: Do not try to occupy every fan spot in this case.
