Did my first drop this weekend.  Even pointing toes down and pushing back, I’m having a hard time keeping my feet attached to the bike. 

MTBers that coached me through the jump pointed out my pedal nubs are short and they recommended getting more spikey ones 

Amazon has a bazillion $25 cheapos, then a few $150 pedals that look legit. 

I’m not a serious MTBer but am happy to spend $50 on spikey pedals.  

Is there a pedal you’d recommend for ~$50-$60 or less?

Pokey Pedals for $50 budget?

 I tend to be tough on gear and live in a rocky place so I should be a good test case.  UPDATE  After a few more rides, I've downgraded my review. The design (Stamp 1) is flawed. The spindle simply prevents your sole from fully engaging with the pegs

Avoid the Stamp 1. Not as "sticky" as others.  Not a true flat pedal.

OneUp Composite Pedals vs Raceface Chesters vs Crank Bros Stamp 1

middle bump is too much

I wanted to upgrade my stock Wellgo pedals (first pic) with something larger for my big feet. After reviewing every large platform pedal on the market I ordered these "Stamp 1" composites in size L. The other contender was the OneUp Composite but several reviewers stated that riders could feel the spindle bulge thru their shoe so I opted for the Crank Bros. one

 logo on it.  8) Without being an expert, but having owned numerous bikes and pedals, the weight of these pedals seems good to me. Neither featherweight nor heavy. Just about right for the size I would say

Possibly Overkill for Hybrid Bikes

 But at that point, the price will be really close to the stamp 2's which do not have the raised axle area. In retrospect I would go with stamp 2's.
