You can find Tinker models for much less and other models for much more. CRKT Squid is a good pick as another redditor has recommended. Also, the CRKT Pilar and the M16 are also solid first knives and both are available for around $20.

Spent a little more and you’ll me in much better shape. Kershaw makes a plethora of great assisted opening knives under $30. Alternatively, you could grab the CRKT Pilar in stainless for about $20. You could also go the budget knife route if Ganzo, who actually make decent knives with gold materials that are blatant ripoffs if popular styles.

The trains here do use X-rays and they confiscate the knife/pointed object, and list your name. My EDC is a CRKT Pilar, G Shock, Parker IM w/Fisher refill, and a Zebralight SC600w Mk IV Plus. I don't really have a use case for a knife. But my SO gifted it to me so I use the Pilar.
