Works great, short life

I saw immediate boot-speed improvements on my Windows 10 PC once this SSD was set up. The unit is so self-contained and small it seems like you can comfortable use this as an external drive connected to a USB 3 port (which I used to clone my existing HDD and set up the SSD as my boot drive.  As others have noted, not all parts are included required to install this into your PC. I installed mine in a desktop, which required me to purchase an additional cable due to me adding on rather than replacing my existing HDD

 The other conundrum that I have not researched yet is if one should use the manufacturer offered "speed-boost" as the software stated that without "a battery backup it is not recommended". This is confusing because this is a desktop it is installed in, it does have a "battery backup" if the power drops while it is in use, and does this also mean there would be an issue when turning the PC off? So I still need to research that before activating the manufacturer-offered "speed boost" to the drive.  Even without the "speed boost" activated, my boot-times have been literally cut to less than 45 seconds from the time I power it on, get to my log-in screen, and go through all my start-up programs before I typically start interacting with the PC. Compare this with my HDD boot-up where I would literally log-in to my PC and walk away from it for five to ten minutes before I could reasonably interact with it without performance issues

  Even without the "speed boost" activated, my boot-times have been literally cut to less than 45 seconds from the time I power it on, get to my log-in screen, and go through all my start-up programs before I typically start interacting with the PC. Compare this with my HDD boot-up where I would literally log-in to my PC and walk away from it for five to ten minutes before I could reasonably interact with it without performance issues. Outstanding! I can now feel better about leaving my PC powered down for days at a time between uses and then hop on to it without having to waste time waiting for it to go through its startup process before I can touch the keyboard.

Immediate performance improvement - challenging moments with installation

I have an Acer Aspire V5-471p that I recently upgraded to 16 GB ram and this MX500 SSD. I use McAfee for computer security. It now performs faster than ever. That's after the 3 hour long troubleshoot to get the stupid sound drivers working

 After installing windows 10, going on line and playing with the computer I was so impressed with the speed of the unit, that I decided to keep it for myself. My wife bought a new computer for herself, which made her happy. I didn't realize how slow my old computer was until I changed the drive on this one. Boot times are blazingly fast, apps load quikly and there is no drive noise! This is definatly worth the money

 The Seagate 3.5" is also in my system . The Crucial drive this review is about is suppose to be a good name in Memory but the performance is poor in my opinion. I did by the drive for a fairly good price at the time on Amazon prime day in July, so as usual you get what you pay for
